Keep your breakfast healthy and simple with this delicious yogurt bowl.
Hey everyone!! Hope you had a wonderful weekend! Today, I’m sharing a yummy breakfast meal we’ve been eating at our home the past few weeks. Before I do, can I share some pictures from the weekend?
Look who got all dressed up for her father daughter dance?
Every year we take pictures and every year, I can’t believe how much Jules has grown! Jimmy and Jules had the best time dancing, eating desserts and having their little date at her school. I love hearing all the cute stories when they get back home like how they danced to, “watch me whip, watch me nene.” The rest of us stayed in and had a movie night at my SIL’s new place which happens to adjacent to our home. She just moved in our culdesac and it’s been pretty awesome.
Okay, back to the yogurt bowl! This has become are our new favorite breakfast. You can get really creative with these and add whatever ingredients you prefer. Here’s what I like to add.
I use Greek yogurt and whole fat plain yogurt. You could also use vanilla flavored if you don’t like the tartness of plain or Greek. Then, I just top with my favorite ingredients like berries, flaxseed, chia seeds, sliced almonds, and granola.
EDIT* : Ever since we went mostly paleo, we eat almond, soy and coconut yogurt. Over time, I became more and more intolerant to milk. This was so sad especially since I love whole fat yogurt! But it was killing my stomach and so we had to make some adjustments.
It’s such a great start to the morning because it’s filled with powerhouse ingredients. If I could, I would eat a bagel loaded with cream cheese every morning but I usually stay away from them because they are loaded with carbs and make you feel weighed down. This however makes me feel great and is surprisingly filling. Jimmy and I have been eating this every morning and he loves it too.
We also like it with bananas, crushed nuts, frozen blueberries and pineapple. I also love adding frozen mango!
Try it out and let me know what your favorite ingredients are. This also makes a great post workout snack or mid afternoon pick me up.
Have a great day!
xoxo,
