Sweet and Savory Barbeque Chicken

October 9, 2017

This sweet and savory barbeque chicken recipe is the perfect weeknight meal for those busy schedules.

Hey friends! I hope you all had a great weekend. It’s totally feeling like Monday around here today and the dreary weather isn’t helping. But today, I have the BEST recipe for you. I have made this sweet and savory barbeque chicken forever and it’s such an easy meal that’s perfect for those busy weeknights with school and work. If you’re looking for the easiest and most delicious dinner, this is it friends.

What I love about this barbeque chicken is that you can eat it so many ways.  The kids love it with buns and Jimmy and I will eat it as a wrap or over a salad. It’s great with side dishes too. You can take leftovers and make bbque chicken paninis or quesadillas. It’s delicious alone or with coleslaw and pickles. You can also easily make this paleo-ish friendly so I’ve shown you some modifications below. If you’re using a very sweet bb-que sauce, you can decrease the brown sugar amount. I also love to add sliced onions in the slow cooker but it will make the sauce a bit more watery. Here’s how to make dinner tonight!

Sweet and Savory Barbeque Chicken

  • 1 rotisserie chicken shredded
  • 1 1/4 cup of your favorite bb-que sauce
  • 1/3 cup Italian dressing ( I love Trader Joe’s sweet onion and bacon vinaigrette )
  • 1/8 cup brown sugar ( I use coconut sugar )
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Watch this video to see just how easy it is to make!

Directions:

Combine and mix all the ingredients together into your slow cooker. Slow cook for about 4 hours and dinner is done!

I don’t think it could get any easier! If you need a stress free dinner this week, I’ve got you covered. Be sure to pin the image below so it’s easy to find when you’re ready to make it at home.

Hope you have a wonderful week! Don’t forget to catch up on my Friday Favorites from last week!

I miss her big giant hugs, random crazy dance moves, impromptu jams on the piano, base guitar, harmonica, and ukulele. It’s a mix of excitement, happiness and sadness and I’m letting myself feel it all. I catch myself getting weepy throughout the day but I feel a deep sense of gratitude for this new season and what she’ll get to experience.
Aside from the rug, the girls styled their space and it turned out so cute. I love that she’s rooming with her friend from 1st grade. How can my child be in college?!😭😢
