The perfect smoothie is this delicious chocolate avocado smoothie.
Before I post the recipe to this awesome chocolate avocado smoothie, may I share some pictures of my new niece?!!!!! I’m an EEEEEEEMO!! (korean for aunt)
I’m so in love with my niece, Nora!! I affectionately call her Nene. I told my sister that even though I haven’t met Nene, I love her so much already.
I’m so jealous my mom gets to hold and love on her! Grandma is in love with her 4th grandchild.

She is just the cutest!! When I gather more pictures, I will have to do a post just on this sweet lil babe. Remember that rustic shower a few months ago? Yeah, that was for her. Love you, Nene!
Today, I’m gonna share a real quick, smoothie recipe with you guys. We drink this all the time and the kids looooove it. It’s healthy, creamy and a great snack in between meals when you’re hungry but it’s not quite mealtime. I love whipping this up when the kids come home from school. Emmy gets really excited every time I take the blender out because she knows what’s up. I mean, look at her. #sweettomatoescupsarebomb
Chocolate Smoothie Avocado (about 4-5 servings)
- 1/2 ripe avocado
- 4 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
- 4 frozen bananas
- 2 cups milk
- Optional: 2 tbsp creamy peanut butter
TIP: When you have old bananas, peel, break in half and freeze them in a container! This is the best tip if you want to save them for smoothies or banana bread.
I don’t recommend putting more than half an avocado because it will get pretty creamy. In the blender, place the following ingredients in order: cocoa powder, half avocado, frozen bananas and then the milk. Blend until creamy and drink up! It’s delicious! If you use regular, ripe bananas, make sure to add crushed ice before blending.
Add the cocoa powder first so it doesn’t splatter all over the top part of your blender.
I love these huge rubber straws I got from Target. They are perfect for thick smoothies like this one.
Drinking this smoothie obviously requires a lot of focus.
Just a pair of sisters enjoying their smoothies.
Try making them for your kids. If they like chocolate, they should like this smoothie. You can’t taste the avocado so they won’t know it’s in there.
Sweet JJ quietly enjoying his smoothie 🙂
Enjoy, my friends!

omg i am going to make that all next term. i have a magic bullet so not sure if it will work as well as a blender though. And conveniently I also have a whole tin of dark cocoa powder to use up! You don’t add any honey to it? Are the bananas sweet enough? oh crap, I don’t have crushed ice….hmm. we’ll have to crush some! Thanks for posting this amazeballs recipe!
vera! you crack me up girl. i think the bullet will be fine.try to freeze old bananas so you won’t need to use ice. for 1 serving, i would probably use 1 frozen banana, 1/4 or less ripe avocado, 1tbsp cocoa powder and however much milk you want. i don’t use honey b/c it’s sweet enough for me but you could always add that too. peanut butter would also be a yummy addition! miss you!
