Hey everyone!
Today is Earth Day so I thought I would share some simple crafts using everyday items to decorate your home. I love recycling and repurposing all sorts of things.
Remember, my spaghetti mason jars turned into pretty, rustic vases? You could use this to hold flowers, silverware, pencils, wooden spoons, etc
You know what you can do with wine bottles?
Just brush on mod podge all around the bottle and throw on some glitter! Let it dry and now you have some fancy decor. I kept these after using them for Emmy’s dohl.
Or just keep it clear and use it to hold long stem flowers like hydrangeas. Isn’t that pretty?!
Some of the bottles are definitely worth keeping if they are pretty like this one.
Do you eat oatmeal? Don’t toss the container!!
Just peel off the paper and wrap some pretty scrapbook or wrapping paper around it.
Now, you can use it to hold like pens, markers, scissors. These are in my craft area.
Organize your home using simple shoe boxes wrapped in paper.
Have old bananas? Don’t throw them out! Peel and store them in the freezer to make these delicious smoothies or this chocolate quinoa banana bread. For the bread, you just add two thawed ripe bananas and throw them into the blender along with the eggs, vanilla and milk.
Yesterday, I made a last minute decision to paint my kitchen cabinets. I know. #crazylady I’ll keep you updated on the progress. I practiced on one of our bathroom cabinets first to see how it would turn out and it was beautiful. So then while Jimmy was at small group, I started this gigantic project. He came home laughing at me because I was working like a busy bee in the garage. You can also follow along here for the progress.
Enjoy your day, folks! Hope these ideas help to stir your creativity!
