Peach Banana Almond Smoothie

September 11, 2018

This peach banana almond smoothie is healthy, sweet and just plain delicious.

Once my kids get home from school, they are always ready to eat a snack. Since dinner is literally an hour and half after they get home, I try to make sure they eat something small and somewhat nutritious. With the weather still hitting close to 90s here in Georgia, smoothies are an awesome way to cool off especially since they are so sweaty getting off the bus. This peach banana almond smoothie is a hit and simply delicious.

It’s so easy. Here’s how to make your own peach banana almond smoothie. Of course, you can modify it with regular milk.

Peach Banana Almond Smoothie

  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1 frozen sliced peach
  • 1.5 cups of almond milk

Easy right? Combine them all into the blender and that’s it! Just add more ingredients if you need to make more but this makes about 2-3 servings.

I also like to add hemp seeds, flax seeds or chia if I’m in the mood.

I can’t let the day pass without honoring those who lost their lives on 9/11. I was studying abroad in Spain during my senior year in college. I had just arrived in San Sebastián a week prior. My friends and I decided to go to the beach for the first time that day and as we were sitting on the beach, some Spaniards were listening to the radio. They interrupted our conversation to say something terrible happened back at home. We ran back to our respective homes and watched the news in horror.

For days, we cried reading the newspapers while trying to adjust to our new home for the next few months. Many of the students in our program were from New York and some decided to fly back home and not continue the semester. I didn’t blame them. It was traumatic trying to process this horrendous event so many miles away from our families. I will never forget that day as most Americans won’t. That memory is forever etched in my brain. Thinking of all the families that were affected by this day. #neverforget

xoxo,
