Hi everyone! During the colder months, I usually make a big pot of steel cut oatmeal so we can have a warm breakfast with milk and maple syrup. When it starts to get warm, I like to make these overnight oats. They are eaten cold with lots of fruit and yogurt. It’s totally filling so it’s a really great start to your morning. Never skip breakfast! This is great for people who never find the time to have breakfast b/c you can just grab from the fridge and go. I like to make these in mason jars but you can also make a larger batch in a tupperware container. It’s sooo easy to make and you can put whatever your little heart desires.
Grab some mason jars like mine or a some containers with lids.
Get your ingredients. You will need some old fashioned oats (don’t use steel cut), yogurt (any kind), milk and any fruit you enjoy. I recommend peaches, pineapples, blueberries, raspberries, apples and bananas. DO NOT use mango!!! It is disgusting! For some reason, mango turns bad when mixed and stored and it tastes like feet! So unless you want feet for breakfast, DO NOT use mango. You will be surprised but pineapple is the bomb in this concoction. You can use any kind of yogurt. Sometimes, I use greek and add some honey in the mix.
You really don’t need a recipe for this. It’s basically equal parts oats, milk and yogurt with cut up fruit on the top. For mine, I put 1/2 cup of oats and then pour in 1/2 cup of milk. This way, the oats are soaked really nice. Add 1/2 cup yogurt and top with your favorite fruit, nuts or raisins. Close the lid and store in fridge. Right before eating, just mix the contents and you will have some really good oatmeal.
I usually pack it for Jimmy to eat at work but today, he had time to enjoy it before leaving.
Enjoy! Lmk your favorite mixes!

I made my first jar last night and it was so good – I also added toasted almonds, coconut and honey. I can imagine it would taste great with pineapples. Thank you!
