Dinner has never been easier with this instant pot honey soy ginger chicken.
One of the most popular recipes on the blog is my honey ginger drumsticks. This is always a favorite in the home and it’s one of my go-to meals when I need to bring dinner over to a friend. But now it’s even easier because I made them in the instant pot! You can also use the crock pot. Here’s my take on the instant pot honey soy ginger chicken.
It doesn’t photograph very well but I’m telling you, it’s delicious. The sauce is the perfect blend of savory and sweet because of the honey. Here’s how to make it at home.
Instant Pot Honey Soy Ginger Chicken
Ingredients:
- 12-14 boneless and skinless chicken thighs (yes, you can use other types of chicken meat but your cooking time may vary)
- 2 tbsp sesame oil
- 7 tbsp honey
- 1/2 cup soy sauce (I use low sodium)
- 1 tsp of ground ginger or use 1 tbsp of minced fresh ginger
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp of minced garlic or 1 tsp garlic powder
Directions:
Place your meat in the instant pot. In another bowl, make and mix your marinade. Add baby carrots, diced potatoes, etc. Pour the sauce all over your chicken and vegetables and mix so that everything is coated.
Put your instant pot on manual setting for 9-10 minutes. We like the chicken tender and to fall apart so you will be able to see what your family prefers after cooking it a few times. Let is naturally release. Once it’s done, serve it over some rice. You need to get that sauce all over the rice for that delicious umami flavor!
In the crock pot, follow the same instructions and slow cook for 6-8 hours.
Can you believe how easy this is? You know I’m all about easy and delicious and this is the perfect weeknight dinner. Be sure to pin the above image so that you can save it for the future. Lmk if you make this! Happy Cooking!
