These high-protein energy balls are a great afternoon snack or post-workout treat.
Hey friends! I am excited to share this quick and easy recipe with you all because it’s chock full of healthy ingredients and most importantly, it’s delicious. These high-protein energy balls will give you the fuel you need for the afternoon and satisfy your sweet tooth craving.
Here’s how to make your own.
High Protein Energy Balls
Ingredients:
- 1 1/4 cup almond flour
- 1 cup peanut or almond butter
- 1-2 tbsp agave syrup (maple syrup or honey is fine too)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tbsp of hemp seeds, chia seeds, or flaxseed (optional)
- 1/2 cup dark chocolate bar or chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup chopped pecans (optional)
Directions:
Mix all the ingredients into a bowl. If you need to chop your chocolate and pecans, go ahead and do that.
You can obviously modify your ingredients and add more or less of any ingredient.
If your mix seems too dry when you roll it into a ball, just add a little more agave syrup.
After everything is mixed, just smoosh a spoonful in your hand and roll it into a ball. Lay the balls onto parchment paper on a tray and let them sit in the fridge. Store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to one week.
The almond flour, pecans peanut butter, and hemp seeds provide a ton of protein so these are the perfect snack before or after your workout. They also satisfy that sweet tooth craving you may have in the late afternoon or evening. Food is fuel and this will provide maximum energy!
These are too good! Give one to your kids after school for that afternoon pick me up as they do their homework.
Enjoy my friends! I also have a pumpkin chocolate chip energy ball recipe on the blog that you can check out. Have a great day and happy eating!
xoxo,
