This decadent Paleo/Keto chocolate tart will knock your socks off!
Two Thanksgivings ago, our cousin Ahnee made this delicious paleo chocolate tart for us. I loved it so much that I started making it too with a few modifications. If you are looking for a healthier alternative to a chocolatey pie, this decadent paleo/keto chocolate tart will hit the spot.
Here’s how to make your own. It’s easy!
Decadent Paleo/Keto Chocolate Tart
Ingredients:
Filling:
- 1 1/2 cups of coconut milk (paleo) or whole milk (keto)
- 3 cups paleo or keto-friendly chocolate chips
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 3 tbsp maple syrup (pale0) or 3 tbsp monkfruit sweetener (keto)
Crust:
- 1 3/4 cups almond flour
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1/4 cup melted coconut oil
- 1/3 tsp salt
- 4 tbsp maple syrup (paleo) or 4 tsbp monkfruit sweetener (keto)
Directions:
Crust:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. In a bowl, stir together all of the ingredients for the crust. Press the mixture evenly into a tart pan or pie dish. Bake for about 12-15 minutes until it feels dry and firm to touch. Let it cool down until you’re done with the filling.
Filling:
Over the stovetop, heat the coconut milk or whole milk in a pot until it starts to boil. Make sure to watch while heating whole milk because it will bubble and spill out quickly!
Put all your chocolate chips into a bowl. I like to use dark chocolate chips and add in some cut up 90% dark chocolate pieces from my favorite dark chocolate bar. I know that’s super bitter so stick to semi-sweet if dark chocolate is not your thing.
Pour the hot milk over the chocolate chips and let it sit at least a minute before you start to mix everything with the spatula.
Add in the rest of the ingredients and stir gently. The chocolate chips should melt easily.
Pour the chocolate filling into the crust pan. Make sure you lick that spatula clean because it’s delicious and none of it should go to waste!
Place in refrigerator for at least a couple of hours before serving. I like to prepare it overnight.
This is really delicious! I recommend tasting the filling because I prefer a not too sweet chocolate tart with some of the bitterness of dark chocolate really coming through. If you prefer sweeter, add some more of the sweetener and use semi-sweet chocolate chips instead of dark chocolate. I’ve tried both the paleo and keto version and love the recipes.
