Hey guys, it’s been a while since I’ve shared a recipe so today, I wanted to share a new one that’s been added into our rotation. These cheesesteak hoagies are da bomb! So meaty, cheesy, and excellent on a toasted hoagie bun.
Look how tasty!
I used boneless beef short rib which worked perfectly but you could also use any other cuts of meat that have a bit of fat content. You want tender slices of meat so avoid anything too lean. Slice it as thin or as thick as you prefer. I sliced mine fairly thin.
Slice some green onion, onion, and mushrooms.
I used a cast iron skillet but any pan will do. Make sure you cover the pan generously with oil and cook under medium heat. I kept it simple with some garlic powder, salt, and ground pepper.
Put the cooked veggies aside, drizzle a little more oil or butter and cook the meat.
After the meat is finished cooking, turn off the heat and place the veggies back into the pan. This is when I like to add the cheese.
We love muenster cheese but provolone is good too. While all this was cooking, I toast the hoagie buns in my toaster oven. You can also toast them for 2 minutes in your regular oven using the broiler setting.
That’s really it! So simple yet so delicious!
Cut in half and enjoy. Jimmy loved these. I even made it for my mom and MIL one day for lunch and they devoured them.
If you have any leftover meat, veggies, and cheese, they are perfect for quesadillas the next day.
It’s so much cheaper making these at home and it’s really simple too!
Have a great day, folks!
