Making homemade biscuits has never been easier with this 2 ingredient cream biscuits recipe!
I recently discovered Jolene’s 2 ingredient biscuit recipe online at the AJC. I knew I had to make it since I love recipes that require as little ingredients as possible. I modified the recipe a bit since I wanted to use all the heavy whipping cream that came in the small carton. Here’s how to make your own 2 ingredient cream biscuits at home! Are you drooling yet?
2 Ingredient Cream Biscuits Recipe
Ingredients:
- 2 3/4 cup self-rising flour
- 2 cups heavy whipping cream
- melted butter (optional)
Jules and I got to work!
Instructions:
Heat oven to 450 degrees. Spray your pan or line it with parchment paper. Pour the flour in your large mixing bowl. Gradually stir in the heavy whipping cream and stir with a spatula. Keep adding and mix until it’s slightly sticky to touch.
This is when I use my hands and pour it into my parchment paper. Add a little more flour if you need but I didn’t need any. Fold the dough a few times but not too much! Form it into a ball and then roll it out to about 1-2 inch thickness. I tried making them thin and thick and the thicker version is so much much better.
Take a biscuit cutter or mason jar like me since I don’t have one. Cut the biscuits as close together and push down and then back up without twisting.
I use a small knife to cut around the biscuit to remove it from the mason jar.
*edit: After I posted this, a couple of readers suggested using the lid on a mason jar so you can easily poke the dough out. Idk why I didn’t think of that!
If you have any remaining dough, gently roll it out again and repeat. Place the biscuits on the cookie sheet. Brush the tops with a little bit of softened or melted butter. You will probably make around 12 biscuits. We made more since we used a smaller mason jar to cut them.
Bake for about 10 minutes or until the tops are golden brown. Since the biscuits don’t have salt, I highly encourage you to add your favorite jelly. That makes all the difference!
When you make them thicker, the biscuits come out sooooo soft and fluffy.
