ORC Guest Room Makeover: Week 4

April 26, 2016

Hi Friends! Can you believe it? It’s already Week 4 of the One Room Challenge!! If you missed the first 3 weeks, you can find them below.

Week 1, Week 2, Week 3

Well, the guest room is coming together quite nicely. I actually got a lot of painting done. The nightstands are painted but I can’t reveal that until next Tuesday for another blog hop. Last week, the headboard and footboard was painted and I’m dying to show you how it turned out. I also spray painted the silver lamps gold and am waiting for them to dry. Here’s a little sneak peek of the lamp and nightstand.

After going back and forth, I decided to go ahead and paint the vintage console table.

I painted one application of gray chalk paint and then topped it with a layer of white chalk paint. I was going for a distressed, aged look.

I love how it turned out!

The old, dark colored handles were revived with some gold rub-n-buff. This will be used as a desk for the guest room. I’m loving the gold against the white and gray in this room.

My rose bush started blooming so naturally, I clipped some for the table.

So that’s about all I can show you for now since everything else is hush hush until next Tuesday. I can’t wait to show you the newly painted furniture. It really brightens up the space and looks so fresh and clean. Remember the little sitting area I completed last week?

The chair was sent to me by Lamps Plus and I just noticed it’s on sale.  Fyi, it sits lower than a standard chair but is still comfortable.

I gave that little white table another fresh coat of paint and it’s looking pretty as ever. I’m planning on putting up a large frame or mirror above the chair on this wall. I haven’t quite decided yet.

Hope you’ve enjoyed following along! Next week, I’ll share a lot more pictures on the room including all the repainted furniture. I’m still waiting for a large frame from one of my sponsors this week and can’t wait to put it up. Thanks so much for following along! Only 2 weeks left!

*EDIT: Here are weeks One, Two, Three, Four, Five and the Final Reveal.

The gold lamp is really pretty. I never really would have thought of combining gray with gold until I started looking at all the ORC posts. The color combination is really popular and really growing on me! Fresh flowers always add so much to a room. Your roses are gorgeous – my favorite flower. I like a lower chair in a bedroom and yours looks so comfortable. I guess I have enough chairs so I’ll pass this one up even though it’s on sale! Can’t wait to see your pics next week!

Lucille, thanks so much for your comment! I actually was really nervous about the color combination as well but am so glad I went with it. It’s definitely so much cleaner than before. Thank you again for stopping by!
