Hey everyone! It’s already Week 2 of the One Room Challenge. If you missed my first week, you can find that information here. I’m linking up as a guest participant for the full 6 week challenge.
We really only got one thing completed this past week which was painting the room. Since it’s my least favorite job, I’m so glad it’s done! Now, that’s out of the way, I’ll be painting furniture this week like that beauty up there. That vintage console table belongs to my in laws and since they’re not using it anymore, I snatched it up real quick! That will be used in the guest room as a desk. It’s sitting in my office and of course I had to style it. 🙂
A huge thanks goes out to Mr. Love Your Abode because he helped with all of the painting which took 2 nights after clearing most of the items from the room. Two days before the start of the challenge, I decided to visit my local Sherwin Williams to see if they would be interested in sponsoring me. They agreed and generously provided 3 gallons of their premium paint line called Cashmere. It’s an ultra smooth, interior latex paint that produces a silky high end finish. Jimmy and I loved the quality and could tell a difference from some other brand paints we’ve used over the years. My local Sherwin Williams also agreed to give all of my local blog subscribers 30% off all of their paint lines! If you’re north of Atlanta and have a paint project coming, this is a great deal! Just email me at loveyourabode@gmail.com and I will give you more information on where and how to obtain the discount.
Remember, here’s our BEFORE.
Here’s what the room looked like with one coat of Pure White in eggshell.
Here’s what it looks like today with 2 coats.
It’s white, bright and so much better than the previous color. The paint went on smooth like butter and we’re really happy with it. We moved the bed in the middle since we had to paint but also to see what it looks like near the window. I don’t like how it’s blocking so much light so I think we’re going to move another queen size vintage headboard in here that we kept from my in laws’ previous home. Do you see that gold beauty on the mattress? Oh it’s even more beautiful in person! That chandelier was generously sent by the Lighting Design Company and it’s going to be the showstopper for this room.
This week’s to do list is painting the furniture. I can’t wait to get to the actual decorating and styling part which is always my favorite.
Thank you so much for following along!!
*EDIT: Here are weeks One, Two, Three, Four, Five and the Final Reveal.

Hey Sarah, honestly I’m not totally sure. It’s been on my mind this week and I’m going to see how it looks in the room without painting. I’d hate to paint it but not sure it will go with the room. Thanks for the comment!
