Here’s how to make DIY holiday bookpage art inspired by the White House
I recently was a volunteer Christmas decorator at the White House and had the most amazing experience! I wrote all about it in this blog post. I also shared a post on how to make DIY cluster ornaments that were also inspired by the White House. I saw these DIY bookpage art ornaments in the Vermeil Room in the White House and I thought they would be so cute to recreate at home. They are so simple and are perfect for this holiday season.
DIY Holiday Bookpage Art
Supplies:
- Bookpages
- Scissors
- Hot Glue
- String
- Stick or Branch
Directions:
You will need 4 book pages for each ornament. Fold the paper accordion-style lengthwise and fold them in half. You will hot glue the edge together.
They will look like this. Fold the inner edges together for each accordion.
Then, glue the outer edges to another accordion to create a circle. Glue on the string on the back of the paper. You can also add the ornaments and layer them on top of each other to create a design.
Tie the string on the branch. I added some faux branches and berries on the branch to create a festive feel.
You can add these onto a tree as ornaments as they did in the White House or hang them as art like mine.
After creating these, I had the idea to use some colorful paper. I think I’ll save this to use next year with a variety of patterns and colors. This also doesn’t have to be just holiday season decor. I’m envisioning a cool wall art for Emmy’s room using some bold paper and creating a mix or large and smaller-sized paper ornaments!
If you make these, please share them with me!
