Dark and Dreamy Dining Room

See the transformation of my dark and dreamy dining room come to life. 

Today is the day!!! I finally get to reveal my new dark and dreamy dining room with you. I’m so excited to share this new space with you all in partnership with The Home Depot. They carry a huge selection of furniture and decor that is available online only at homedepot.com/decor.

Please forgive me as I quietly sit and appreciate the newly designed space in our home. I’m quite smitten with how this dark and dreamy dining room turned out. This room has seen more changes than any other space in our home. It has evolved from a dining room to an office and back to a dining room again. Here’s what it originally looked like when we first moved in.

I’m totally smitten with our new dining room. It’s an entire mood in here with the black walls and black ceiling. 

Naturally, I know many of you are still not comfortable going to stores. Thankfully, you can order over one million items from homedepot.com/decor that qualifies for free delivery.

I can confidently say that I love the dining room now more than ever.  I am so pleased that I went all black in here with the walls, molding, and ceiling. It allows everything else in the room to stand out and shine. It has a bit of a gallery type vibe with the dark walls. I felt it was important to add in more casual elements in this space to help create a more homey and relaxed atmosphere. 

Can you believe the gorgeous furniture and home decor pieces are from The Home Depot? When I put the original design board together, I chose pieces that were classic, comfortable, and stylish. The Kingsley Sandblasted mango wooden table from The Home Decorators Collection comes in two colors. I chose the white sandblasted finish and it has a beautiful rustic grain. The pedestal allows for 4 people to sit comfortably around it and fits perfectly in our smaller dining room space. If you don’t like the round style, it also comes in a rectangle version. 

I selected the Stylewell Benfield oatmeal chairs because the silhouette was a blend of modern meets comfort. The legs have a sleek design and the wood tones help soften the overall appearance. The plush cushioning allows for ultimate relaxation so you can sit and enjoy your dining room for hours. The chairs come in a pair and in three various shades. The price is so affordable too!

Can we talk about this tablescape, please? My love for table settings goes very deep and The Home Depot carries a vast selection of dinnerware, glassware, and everything else to set a stunning table. I love black flatware because it’s different than your typical silverware. It’s amazing how the color, alone, on your flatware can truly elevate and add another attractive element to your table environment. The Kathryn black stainless steel flatware is for four settings and is available in many shades. 

I kept the overall look neutral with the creamy dishware on top of the black charger plates from Elle Decor. 

I prefer to call the dinnerware casual fancy. The Chastain 16-Piece White Porcelain Dinnerware Set creates a contemporary and elegant table setting. I especially love the shape of the bowls and the modern rims. 

Can we talk about that stunning terracotta decorative vase? The organic texture on the stone has a naturally distressed coating with all the cracks and perfectly displays any flowers or greenery. A tip for flower arranging is to place flowers in a smaller jar or vase and then place that vessel into a larger vase or stone jar seen here.

Let’s focus on the natural finish buffet table which is also from The Home Decorator’s Collection. I fell in love with the gold metal inlay and mid-century style of this buffet table. 

There’s plenty of storage space in the three compartments for all your dishware or wet bar accessories. Best of all, it already came assembled. We only had to attach the legs and insert the drawers inside. The wood grains are so beautiful against the black background. The terracotta taupe decorative pitcher jar is comparable to the one on the table and is a versatile piece for any room in the home.

The unique concrete lamps from Stylewell have a nice brass detailing and are quite substantial. The brass ties in with the gold in the mirror and buffet table. I chose a unique rounded rectangle-shaped gold mirror above the buffet. The black paint on the walls is called Carbon by Behr and is in an eggshell sheen. 

The NuLoom vintage-inspired rug has a gorgeous Persian pattern and contributes some beautiful colors that add character to the dining room while adding a pleasant contrast to the overall black and white palette. 

We’re so happy with how this space turned out. Thanks to my friends at The Home Depot for trusting my vision and making our dining room swoon-worthy!
