This week of Friday Favorites consisted of chubby baby cuddles, Instant pot dinners and a hot new fashion trend.
Hey friends! Today, I’m linking up with Momfessionals and sharing my Friday Favorites. My youngest brother, David and his little family stayed with us this week so our home was full of baby giggles and even more baby rolls. Their baby, Teya is only 7 months old but weights 26 lbs and can crawl like no other baby I’ve ever seen and stand herself up against the couch. In all my years, I have never seen such a sight. She is the sweetest little thing. I mean sweetest gigantic thing. There is oh so much to love. I call her super baby because she truly is just that. This post contains affiliate links for your convenience.
The cousins looooved spending time with her. Teya is wearing a 3T shirt in this photo. I can’t even.
That face says it all.
Emmy loves her cousin and would “read” to her. The funniest part is Emmy is reading and showing her a book with no pictures.
This squishy stage is definitely my favorite.
This week was super busy with a huge client install that took up a lot of my mornings this week. Because of that, I had to prep and have my meal plan ready especially since I had family staying with us too. I’ve been struggling with meal planning and so I made sure to spend a few minutes planning it out at the beginning of this week. It really helped me a ton this week and I recommend doing the same if you’ve been struggling with what to make for dinner. It’s nothing fancy but all I did was write up what I was cooking up this week on my notepad and made sure I shopped for ingredients when I had the chance. I use an app called Wunderlist and update the list for grocery items that I need. If you check my recipes tab, you will find a lot of simple and healthy recipes for your whole family. The instant pot saved my life this week because I cooked it every night for dinner. This week, I made chili and Asian pork in it. The best part is that the chili was done in about 30-40 minutes.
The Asian pork took about an hour and the meat was fall off the bone tender. My kids love this recipe so much and will devour a couple of burritos. I make nachos too with the meat and it’s soooo good! What used to take me all day to cook the meat in the crock pot now takes an hour or less in the Instant Pot. If you’re still on the fence, this is your time to just bite the bullet. If you cook a lot at home, this is a game changer. Sometimes, I don’t have the time to prep the crock pot in the morning so the Instant Pot works awesome because I just need an hour and half before dinner time to prep. Then, I stick it in the pot and let it cook while I tend to other matters.
My Instagram friend turned into a real life friend this week when we met up to go shopping. Megan from Sugar Color Interiors and I hit Homegoods and Marshalls and had too much fun. I had list of client items I still needed to purchase so I scored some great deals. We also started a new fashion trend. This Christmas, your furry tree skirt can now function as a beautiful poncho cape. You know I’m all about multi-purpose. I dare you to try it this season. I promise you’ll be the talk of the town. ๐
Did you check out my post called Free 99 Decorating? That’s exactly how this mantle came about.
I’ve gotten zero Halloween decorating done so I’ll look back on this post last year titled, “Halloween decorating is better than laundry.”
I hope you have an awesome weekend, friends. Thanks for reading!

Hi, Yuni – LOVE those photos!! I’ve been thinking about an Instant Pot, so perused the reviews with the one you suggested. Although there were a gazillion positive remarks, the “1 Star Reviews” were horrible. I was going to ask my son & d-i-l for one for Christmas, but after reading about the company – & even Amazon – well, it makes me want to abandon the idea.
Does applying pressure to company’s reputation have any impact these days? I don’t know, but those “bad” reviews are very discouraging… What kind of response & support have you received when facing such dilemmas in your position of influence? Thanks, Yuni ๐ Keep sharing those beautiful babes with us! Kathryn

Hi Kathryn, thank you so much for taking the time to comment! I honestly had no idea of those reviews and so I went and checked them myself. My mom actually gave me the Instant Pot so I started using it without having any knowledge of the reputation of the business. It’s funny because it actually sat in my garage for a few months until I realized it was actually a cool appliance. I just read all the reviews and it is disappointing considering it actually is such an amazing gadget. But these things are only amazing if they actually work! I know if mine stopped working, I would be really disappointed because it’s NOT a cheap item. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and knowledge with me. For me, it always comes down to customer service. In the end, if the service is terrible, it’s difficult to go back to that brand once they’ve broken their trust and credibility. Thank you again, Kathryn! I really appreciate it!

Instant Pot is a total game changer! I want to try that Asian pork for sure! Beautiful work you have done – I love it. I’m in the same business along with organization and cleaning (not a large market here just for design, sadly!) I hope your weekend is amazing! xo
