When the weather warms up, that means it’s the perfect time for some outdoor dining.
Recently, I shared over at the Home Depot blog our patio makeover. Ever since the weather has warmed up considerably, I have been finding any excuse to spend it on our new sectional. The late afternoon and evenings are the best time since it’s completely shaded and it’s still breezy and cool without the inevitable humidity that’s bound to arrive soon. The other day, I went out to work out there alongside my son who was doing his homework and I completely passed out. No kidding. I literally took a nap at 6PM. Today, I’m sharing more photos of our outdoor dining area I created with our patio table. You will also want to see all the other great areas that my blogger friends are sharing for this fun outdoor blog hop listed at the bottom of this post.
We’ve had our outdoor dining set from Home Depot for a couple of years now and we love the resin wicker. It really stands against the weather during the winter and it still looks fantastic.
Placing an outdoor rug really adds a nice touch and your patio can truly become an extension of your home.
This would be perfect for Mother’s Day this weekend. Bring your nice china outside and create a tablescape for your sweet mom. Or if you’re down with paper plates, by all means, you can do that too. Here’s a confession. Since I also like to celebrate Mother’s Day, we will most definitely be using paper plates!! Ain’t nobody got time for dishes, especially this mama.
But if you are down with doing dishes, go ahead and set a tablescape because it truly does create a nice ambience. Plus, your guests will feel so honored!
Use planters to hold ice and drinks like I did here. Lanterns add to the nice ambience especially in the evenings when you can light the candles.
I try to find any excuse to lounge here in our new backyard patio. The sectional is called the Hampton Bay Riley collection and it comes in a bunch of different colors. The fire pit is a must too.
We just had our first party out here last weekend and we had so much fun with our friends and family celebrating our daughter turning 11.
I brought my bar cart outside to hold some more cups and lemons and limes for drinks. Summer is all about adding the pops of color!
Instead of buying all new things, bring some of your decor from indoors! I brought out my pillows, throws and stools to hold drinks for our guests.
See, even Emmy wants to hang out here all the time. I don’t blame her one bit.
The hot pink fabric is just a throw that I laid across the table.
I took these pictures when my grass was still dead. It’s slowly coming back to life!
Anyone wanna join us for bar-be-que? How about some S’mores? I’m kind of a toasted marshmallow addict. WHY ARE THEY SO GOOD?! WHYYYY?!

You’re such a sweet, loving presence, Yuni~I can feel the love you have for your family, your faith, your home, and your friends. I love that you are opening your life -by example- to foster children. I also love your mom’s new space and seeing how you celebrated your daughter’s 11th birthday – Your children surely feel your love ~ My mom is 92, & very much ready to “go home”… She, too, made sure the four of us kids felt very special and loved throughout our entire lives. She was the kind of mom that other kids wished they had; down-to- earth, fun, relaxed and ever-present. She’s also been a precious gift to all of her grandchildren . Thanks for letting me pay a little tribute to her, here, and to all mothering souls, whether they actually gave physical birth or have simply served as big hearted women, leading us all with their kindness & wisdom ~
