Monday already? Last night as I was putting Jules to bed, she told me she was so excited for Monday because that meant science lab day! That really shifted my perspective and I actually became excited for Monday too. It’s a fresh new start of the week and I get to share this fun post with you guys.
I know it’s no surprise that I love repurposing an item. I especially love making what seems like an old, useless item into a chalkboard. This particular one was my old wooden cutting board that had a crack on one side. It used to lean against the backsplash behind my stove but now it lives in my new office with a fresh coat of chalkboard paint and lettering.
Remember, that other measuring chalkboard I created from another old, cutting board?
I love using shoeboxes and wrapping them up with pretty paper to create storage. I use them in my baking station and in my office supply/miscellaneous cabinet.
This past week, my SIL gave me the brightest idea. She had a large 3 tiered plate holder similar to the one pictured above and she was about to donate it when she had a lightbulb moment. She placed hers in the lower cabinet filled with pots and pans. After she shared her amazing idea with me, I immediately did the same thing when I got home.
Isn’t that awesome? I had these pots and pans stacked on top of each other and it was such a pain! Now, it’s so much easier to get them in and out. Thanks, sis for the great idea!
I recently found this little gem of an item at a garage sale with my MIL. The owner was selling a bunch of items from her boutique store and I imagine this rustic basket was used to hold accessories like jewelry. I think the bar on the top was used to hold bracelets and necklaces. When I bought it for $3, I didn’t know what to do with the top bar but I knew I wanted to utilize the baskets to hold some of my vegetables on the counter. Then, the idea hit me to hang my towel on there! We don’t have a place to hang dish towels near the sink so this has been so awesome!
It’s so fun thinking outside the box and creating new uses for your old items. Share with me on FB how you like to repurpose items in your own home.

That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. Romans 10:9-10
