Hi friends! Well, it’s already week 3 of the One Room Challenge with Calling it Home. If you’re new here, welcome! You can catch up by reading my posts from week 1 and week 2. Most of you know that I’m giving our main bathroom a little facelift. It’s a typical builder grade bathroom with basic functionality but absolutely no personality. I’m hoping this transformation adds a good amount of personality while keeping form and function.
It’s been a busy week with having guests in our home and working on some staging projects for clients who want to sell their homes. If you’re in the Atlanta area and need help staging your house to sell, I can help you! Just email me at loveyourabode@gmail.com and I’d love to help you sell that home. I also have a wonderful realtor friend who I can refer you to as well.
This past week, I received some more goodies from my sponsor, Lamps Plus like this gorgeous wooden pedestal table and candle holder. For some reason, I miscalculated the measurement of this table as I was planning on placing it next to the bathtub. It’s actually much bigger than I thought and so it’s currently living in my family room. I have to say, it’s pretty perfect in this space.
Every single time I photograph any decor and my little Emmy is around, she makes sure to get in a number of shots. Here she is in her favorite dress and messy hair. I love this crazy little girl.
When Emmy doesn’t get in on the photo, she always makes sure to add her personal touch to my staging. #elmobomb I gotta say, red isn’t my color but she propped him on that table perfectly right before I snapped this photo. She’s so sneaky!!
Well, this week was an interesting one. I still have guests in the house but since I really needed to work on this space, I kindly kicked them out of this bathroom and am making them use the one upstairs. Ha! Such a terrible hostess I am!
Fortunately, the walls are all finished now with two fresh coats of white paint. However, I started working on the tiles and honestly, it’s looking mad ugly right now. If you remember my design board, this is the look I’m going for.
I started painting the tile with Rustoleum’s chalk paint in aged gray but the color was way too blue and it just looked awful. I shared it on my IG stories but forgot to snap a photo. Just imagine looking at ugly grayish blue tile. Even my guest asked if it could be erased. Doh! You don’t feel so bad about me kicking them out of the bathroom now right?! j/k
I emailed my friend, Kellie and shared my painting mishap. She sells a beautiful line of paints called Velvet Finishes and she’s graciously sending me some of her gray Opulent paint that I used for my first ORC guest room makeover. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that this will turn out better in the end with her paint. Wish me luck!
Well, that’s it for week 3. This week, I’ll be receiving our gorgeous mirror from Hayneedle so I can’t wait till that’s finally installed. I hope to finish more of the tile painting as well as the cabinet painting. I’ll basically be having a date night with my paint brush all week. I can’t wait to get to my favorite part which is the actual styling.
A huge thanks goes out to my following sponsors for assisting me with this bathroom makeover. Thank you so much for following along!
Have a great weekend, friends!

Haha I love when Emmy makes an appearance – and her personal touch to the vignette in the last photo!! I don’t know how you’re tackling this project with guests at home – I can barely keep up, and it’s just us two for now!

She’s like my assistant except she doesn’t really help lol. Well, she likes to be in the photos. ha! Thanks, sweet friend!
