I created a modern bathroom design board for our little Emmy’s bathroom.
When it comes to designing any space, I always start with a mood board. Sometimes, this is a virtual design board, and other times I create a flat lay. Doing this helps me to take my vision to the next step before I make any commitment with the design. Emmy has her own bathroom and one day I hope to change it up. I used her space to create a modern bathroom design board using some samples of flooring I received from >Carpet One Floor and Home.
This post is sponsored by >Carpet One but all thoughts, opinions, and styling are my own.
>Twenty flooring products have been hand-selected by industry experts for their classic characteristics, trending styles, and cutting-edge technologies. I put my board together with my favorite flooring. Flooring is a great place to start and creates the foundation for the room.
After looking at the selection, I chose the >Highland Spring Flooring. The luxury vinyl mimics the look and feel of real hardwood. However, it has waterproof properties that make it invincible. It also has beautiful cool gray tones mixed with brown. I love the rustic variations of the grains and it pairs well with a more modern aesthetic. This would be so beautiful and unexpected as tiles are traditionally the flooring for bathrooms.
I leaned towards this Fabric Art modern textile porcelain tile. I love how it has a textured appearance and mimics a woven pattern. It’s the juxtaposition between the hard and soft and this tile would look beautiful as a backsplash in a kitchen or bathroom. The Pantone colors I chose were Lightest sky which has a nice contrast to Pirate Black and Willough Bough.
Brass accents add a stunning contrast to the bright green and modern tile and vinyl flooring. Seeing these objects together helps to create a cohesive design and allows you to visualize the colors together.
This is a great time to display your ideas for hardware and see how they look against the important elements like paint colors and flooring. The marble and lucite details on the hardware add the perfect classic and sophisticated touch!
Natural found objects like these wooden beads add an organic touch and the soft pink and gold wallpaper sample complements the other details.
Can you see where I’m going with this bathroom design? I love it so much! If you have a hard time figuring out where to start with a room design, I highly encourage you to create a flat lay like this one.
