I’m so excited to share my Home Depot catalog feature 

Today is an exciting day! If you get your hands on a copy of the Home Depot summer catalog, Love Your Abode is in it! Last year, I was asked to design a space for the catalog and it’s been such a unique experience to see it come to life. It’s so humbling when I think about it because it all started years ago when I decided to share my passion for DIY, design, good food, faith, and everything else I love and am inspired by.

 

Under normal circumstances, Home Depot would have flown me up for the weekend in Chicago so I could be a part of the photoshoot and help style the set myself. With travel restrictions still in place, I ended up designing the whole set virtually. I designed the dining room with Home Depot furniture, decor, and flooring. The paint colors, french doors, and wood flooring were all intentionally designed. Even the floral arrangements, charcuterie platter, and door handles were important details!

Are you surprised by the moody dark walls? It’s quite similar to my own dining room, right? I even chose the same dining table except in a different shape. The production team and I face-timed to get all the details just right and they did such a phenomenal job building out the set to shoot this space.

When designing this space, I imagined it to not only be beautiful but completely functional. I saw guests opening the two sets of patio doors to bring in the outdoors and sitting for hours breaking bread and enjoying each other’s company. I envisioned my own family living and using this space. Isn’t that what makes life so sweet? It’s being with the ones you love, sharing a meal, and living in community with one another.

I’m so thankful and honored to have my work in it and I still pinch myself that I get to do my dream job every day.
