Today, I’m sharing my client’s global den reveal. I transformed it from an unused room full of random storage into a new living space.
For the past month and half, I’ve been working with a sweet family on updating their home. I updated their family room and recently just finished their foyer and den. After moving around for years, this family is happy to call Georgia their home. Since they feel more settled here, they hired me to come in to help make their house a home. Today, I’m sharing their global den reveal. Here’s where we started!
BEFORE
This den sits at the front of the house so you immediately see it on the left when you walk into the house. First, I had the clients paint the room to get rid of the brown muddy wall color. They also cleaned the room out. What I’ve noticed with spaces is that if the room doesn’t have a specific purpose or function, it just becomes the room where random things get dumped. After I finished their family room, the clients stated how things are just more naturally organized and things aren’t getting dumped on the end tables and coffee table because they have a specific function. Less clutter makes everyone happier!
Over Thanksgiving break, my cute hubby came and helped me with some of the install because I have a weak back and he wanted to help with the heavy items. I think I may just hire him! I tried out a few things on the wall but sadly, we didn’t use any of the pieces that came with us that day.
I’ve linked affiliate links in this post for your convenience. Some items are similar things I found online since they are either no longer available or purchased at Homegoods.
I helped the clients choose the furniture and rug and then I went out and shopped for all of the furnishings and accessories. I love it when the clients give me free reign with my vision!
Here’s the AFTER!
I love that rug sooo much! It just adds the most beautiful colors into the space. They intend to use this area as another space to sit with guests and for reading and hanging out. I would hang out here if I could too. I wonder if they would be creeped out if I just came to hang out in here when I need to get away from my children. 😀
The furniture company let the clients keep a pair of striped sitting chairs in the den until their custom ones are done. I chose a rich navy color for the sitting chairs and they are currently getting reupholstered by the furniture store. So just envision the navy chairs sitting there instead of the striped ones.
A long ornate, wooden tray holds some Christmas decor, coasters, candle and a faux flower.
When I saw the Moroccan coffee table, I knew it was the one. It was the perfect size and the wooden carved legs were just too good to pass. The base is currently on sale for $179 and it’s normally $350!! You have to make sure you also purchase the glass top that will sit on the base.
OMG, Jimmy couldn’t come with me on the last day of the install and I had to hang that gigantic piece of art by myself. It was large, heavy and I’m not sure how I even did it. I struggled balancing it while measuring and hanging but I did it! When it comes to my stuff, I’m not a perfectionist but when it comes to clients, I need everything to be perfect. After having a lot of experience hanging frames, art and doing gallery walls, I feel a lot more confident putting them together. Measuring is everything!
The ceilings are super tall in their home and so I wanted the art to hang high to make the room appear larger than it is. The sofa is a smaller size to fit the scale of the room but you wouldn’t be able to tell by looking at the photos.
Here’s a last look at the transformation.

Well that’s it! What do you all think? My favorite part when working with clients is how they are so excited to utilize their new space. They think about all the things that will take place in that space with friends and family and it just makes my heart full. You know I’m all about design + function and when you combine the two, it’s exactly how I think a room should be.
Thanks for reading, friends! Today is our last home study and we hope our house passes the test!
