This Garden Inspired Mother’s Day tablescape is a tribute to my sweet mother-in-law and her mother.
This year, Mother’s Day is even more special. My husband’s grandma, Judy turns 90 right around Mother’s Day this year and I thought this garden inspired Mother’s Day tablescape should be dedicated to both her and my MIL. When asked by Balsam Hill to create a a Mother’s Day tribute, I thought this was the perfect idea. My MIL, Kay plays a major role in caring for her mother. She is one of the most selfless people I know I’m grateful for being gifted with such a mother-in-law. I’m so happy that I was able to take some shots of them together for this post thanks to Balsam Hill.
This post is sponsored by Balsam Hill but all styling, tips and opinions are my own.
Here are the other bloggers that are sharing some wonderful Mother’s Day tributes.
For the past few years, grandma Judy has been struggling with Alzheimer’s. Sadly, she no longer recognizes any of us and forgets things two seconds after telling her. Although it’s hard to watch someone’s mental and physical health decline, it’s a reminder to love the people around us and tell them every single day. Even with this condition, grandma Judy is the happiest grandma I know! She loves to eat and always wants to be surrounded by her many grandchildren. She especially loves to retell the same story to us and we patiently listen as if it’s our first time hearing it.
Aren’t they the sweetest?
I put together a neutral tablescape and decorated it using some beautiful pieces from the Balsam Hill line. Balsam Hill is known for making high quality faux flower arrangements and I chose a pair of these white chantilly lace centerpieces and placed them on the table. The great thing about these centerpieces are that they last forever and because they’re neutral, they can coordinate with different holidays and events.
I thought they looked perfect for my Mother’s Day tribute.
Even my little Emmy joined in on the fun. My kids are blessed to be able to grow up so close to their grandparents and great grandmother.
I also styled my back console table with other pieces from the Balsam Hill line. I like to keep the large farmhouse window on the console and I hung Balsam Hill’s, Marseille Meadow Garland around it. I love how full it is with specks of purple and pink flowers. This garland is large and in charge! It also looks just as lovely placed down the center of the table.
The table is adorned with Balsam Hill’s, Montauk Succulent Hurricanes. The greenery is filled with faux eucalyptus and succulents and they look so realistic.
I love how greenery can act as a neutral color. The console table holds some beverages and some baked paleo almond bread for our brunch.
I love creating a designated area for beverages so I kept it simple with some sparkling water. The bottles look so fun and they make any event look more special. My kids know it’s a good day when they get a “special drink.”
When creating a table for Mother’s Day, it doesn’t have to be super fancy but I do like to put some thought and preparation into it. There’s something about a beautifully decorated table that makes your guests feel special and I really wanted that for Judy and Kay.
This crudité platter looks fancy but it’s so easy to put together. For some reason, kids really dig this dish and magically, they just eat all the vegetables! Try it, it’s a strange phenomenon.
I love how the chantilly lace arrangements come in their own french inspired white vases.
Using white plates keeps the table neutral and classic. Simple white napkins are placed on top of the plates and the gold and white shimmery placemats act as a charger.
This is a special photo as it shows 4 generations of our family together.
If you’ve been following me a for a while, you know how much I love and respect my husband, Jimmy. He is truly an amazing husband and father and I have my MIL, Kay and grandmother, Judy to thank for that. They are a huge reason why he became the man he is today and it’s because he had amazing women in his life. They taught him what it means to be a man of integrity, love Jesus and love his family.
Thank you, friends for reading. I hope that this post encourages you to show appreciation to all the important women in your life. They truly deserve it!
