Blogging, Design and Brand Partnerships
The Haven conference is next week and if you have been here for a while, you know I’ve attended every year since starting my blog back in 2015. Haven is a DIY and interior design focused conference for bloggers. You get to meet with brands and form relationships with other people in this special niche. You will fill your brain with all things blogging, design and brand partnerships.
Six months after starting my blog, I decided to attend Haven since it was held in my hometown. Let’s just say, mind blown. My brain hit maximum capacity from all the amazing classes and DIY workshops. This conference gave me the confidence to jump start my career. You can read about my Haven recaps from 2016, 2017 and 2018.
Next week’s conference will be my fourth time attending and I am going as a mentor! I’m so excited about my awesome group. Being a mentor doesn’t mean I know everything. I’m constantly learning and in this unique business where things are always changing, it’s important to have a teachable heart and be open to acquiring new concepts and skills. There is still so much I don’t know but that is the beauty of this business. You don’t have to know everything to launch your own path.
I still remember coming back from Haven one summer and making the decision to start creating video content. I was so intimidated being in front of the camera but it really forced me to go outside my comfort zone. I have learned that there is so much value when we push ourselves. This also gave me the confidence to tackle another skill or reach a new goal.
It’s truly an honor and I’m so excited to meet with other like minded individuals who share my passion in all things blogging, DIY and interior design. I also have the privilege of being on a panel discussion called, “Let it rain.” I’m a part of this panel with 3 other amazing women and we will talk about alternative ways we bring in income aside from blogging. Some of the topics we will cover are teaching workshops, renting out Air bnb’s, home staging and interior design.
Currently, my business consists of 3 income generating parts. The blogging side is where I partner with companies and brands to share their products and services. I take my partnerships seriously and share companies that fit my brand and the things I feel passionate about. When you see “sponsored post,” that means I’m getting compensated with product, money or both. If my name is going to be on it, you better believe I love it.
The other two parts of my business are taking on private clients and home staging projects. I work with private clients to help them with their own homes and I also stage homes for realtors in my area to expedite the selling process. All three parts of my business really depend on one another. The blogging part serves as a basis for a lot of my work and acts as an online portfolio. Since my website holds a lot of personal and client work, it serves as a great foundation for potential brands and clients to see what I do.
I would never have had these opportunities if it weren’t for blogging. So you can see why I love the blogging part so much. Blogging also has helped form some amazing friendships and it allows me to use this platform to encourage others through design.
If you are attending Haven next week, I can’t wait to meet you! Please say hi and I would love to get to know you. You can read more about the other fabulous mentors for this year over on the Haven website.
Thanks for reading, friends! Can’t wait for next week!
xoxo,
