Affordable ways to update your sitting area

Here are tips that show you how to find affordable ways to update your sitting area. 

Did you know there are so many affordable ways to update your sitting area? I recently finished staging a beautiful lake house for sale. I had to work with most of the existing furniture so I had to find creative ways to update and freshen the interior spaces that appeared a bit outdated. I utilized these tips to  to brighten and give new life to the space. I hope these simple tips can also help you update a space in your own home that could use a little sprucing up.

Here’s an overview of the tips I use to brighten up a space when I can’t change out the furniture.

• Tip 1: Remove old cushions/pillows
• Tip 2: Add in a variety of new, bright pillows
• Tip 3: Add a thrifted coffee table. Here I used a white wicker ottoman as a coffee table. It added brightness and some texture to the space.
• Tip 4: Mix in some smaller pieces of decor like blankets, trays, flowers, books and candles. 
• Tip 5: Most importantly, enjoy your new space!

It’s amazing what new pillows can do to a space. They can truly add a lightness and brightness to the same living area. 

Fresh flowers are one of my favorite ways to add beauty to a space without too much money. 

Major difference right? For the majority of us, it doesn’t make sense financially or even practically to replace big pieces of furniture like our sofa or sectional. I hope that this gives you some simple and affordable ideas to update and style your space if it needs a bit of an update.
