Check out this week’s Friday Favorite Five Edition 6!
For this week’s Friday Favorite Five Edition 6, I’m sharing some holiday items, cute tennis shoes, and last-minute Thanksgiving recipes! Okay, it’s a little more than five things but I’m trying to help you guys out for Thanksgiving prep!
Ok, let’s get started, shall we? This week, I shared our living room all decked out for Christmas. We have our flocked tree decorated and mantle decked with the most gorgeous eucalyptus wreath and garland. I love how the eucalyptus smell fills our space and it’s absolutely gorgeous.
Be sure to check out the flocked tree blog hop that just went live yesterday. I shared my 8 ft flocked tree along with a less expensive option that has great reviews.
I’m a sucker for chic gift wrapping paper and I love this high-quality paper from The Inside. I chose this set of 5 different designs before I even knew what theme I was going for with my tree. I’m so glad it ended up working so well! The colors of the floral and stripe pattern add some whimsy and fun detail to the metallic and blush-themed tree. You can order these as they come in sheets you can use code ABODE50 for an awesome discount. I think they would be so pretty framed too so I may save a few for another project. Check out their amazing selection because there is a lot to choose from.
After wrapping a few boxes, I decided some ribbon was essential.
Aren’t the papers so beautiful? I did a combination of some solid satin, black and white striped, blush, and metallic ribbon. They just add a pretty embellishment to the gifts.
I am loving it!
I’m a sucker for good tennis shoes and saw this Universal Thread pair online at Target. They come in 3 colors but this one was the only available option. They are super cute and I would recommend sizing up a half size.
I like to test shoes out at home to make sure they’re comfortable. They are cute with jeans and would be great with a casual dress too.
OMG did you know caboodles are back? I remember wanting and coveting one of these back in the day but my immigrant mom was like um that’s simply unnecessary. Ha! If you’re wanting to relive your childhood days, they are being sold again. I bet Emmy would want one of these and fill it with all her craft supplies.
And lastly, I’m sharing some favorite recipes in preparation for Thanksgiving this coming week. Do you have a menu planned yet? If not, you’ll want to add the following dishes to your dinner menu.
This southern style creamed corn is sooooo delicious. It’s super easy to make because you just throw everything into one pot. I promise, this will be a huge hit with your Thanksgiving turkey.
This creamed corn casserole is also another great side dish. It’s great all year round with a hot bowl of chili.
You definitely want to add a charcuterie platter as they make the best appetizers and you can graze on it all day long. Don’t forget your stretchy pants!
Make sure you make this epic thanksgiving sandwich with your leftover turkey, ham and cranberry sauce!
If you’re looking for a foolproof dessert, this rum cake is it. It’s one of our favorite desserts and makes a great breakfast with coffee too.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! Be sure to check out my eucalyptus mantel and Christmas tree for some decorating inspiration.
I know the holidays can be stressful and I hope that you are able to find joy and keep it simple! Thanks for reading, friends.
