Friday Favorite Five Edition 4

November 5, 2021

It’s time for my Friday Favorite Five Edition 4!

Did you guys have a good week? You probably heard that our Atlanta Braves won the world series. It was such an exciting world series and our son, JJ was especially thrilled especially since he’s such a huge lover of sports. Anywho, here are my picks for this week’s Friday Favorite Five!

Shackets seem to be all the rage these days no? It’s supposed to be a cross between a sweater and jacket but I feel like it’s more like a jacket and flannel. I actually have loved them for a while and last year I was on the hunt for a couple of oversized ones. I happened to score big time in the men’s department clearance rack at Nordstrom Rack last year and got a couple for me and Jimmy. I love wearing the men’s because of the roomier fit. It’s great to wear at home when you want to just throw on something over your clothes that’s not a coat.

Here’s a men’s version with an attached hood. I love this weatherproof version too and it’s such a great price! I’m tempted to snag another one. If you want a women’s version, I found a super cute that comes in a bunch of different colors. This vintage plaid jacket comes in three colors and would look great with a pair of jeans. Every time I wear my shacket on IG stories, I get asked about it.

Last year, I got rid of my bulky old unsightly alarm clock and changed it to this one on my nightstand.

I loved it so much I got one for Emmy’s room since she’s been asking for an alarm clock. This girl loves helping me clean the kitchen so I’m always confused why her personal space looks a mess! šŸ˜€ The clock has a large display, looks sleek, takes up little space, has 3 brightness levels and USB ports.

A couple of months ago, I signed up with Thrive Market. They sell a ton of healthy products at affordable prices. I had heard a lot of great things about it and then I finally decided to test it out after my brother talked about how much he loved it. I like to try new things every month but so far, here are the items we have loved. If you want to try it out, use this link to get 30% your first order. The Chomps beef sticks are a wonderful snack and my kids like to take them to school. I really like the spicy ketchup especially since it has a kick and it’s unsweetened. I also recommend the dried mango, maxine heavenly chocolate chunks, oat milk creamer by Califa, Unreal chocolates, and the Smarty Pants vitamins. I will say, I’m not a fan of the coconut oil sweet potato chips or the cauliflower-based oatmeal. Bleh! That was really gross. I’ve also ordered shampoo and beauty essentials like serum and have been very happy with those items.

One of my favorite weekly activities is painting my fingernails. Sometimes, I paint them with Jules and Emmy and it’s been a fun way to spend time with them. Have you ever heard of Olive and June? Their nail polish is ok but what I really love is the treatment dry drops which work so well after I’ve applied the top coat. The drops don’t have that terrible chemical smell and my nails dry to the touch after a couple of minutes. I use these two products every week when doing my nails. If you want to help your nails get stronger and longer, try using this Nail Aid treatment. My nails get so long I have to trim them every week.

Lastly, I just finished another book! I read “The Girl on the Train” and if you like suspense, this is a pretty quick read. I read it in 3 nights and it reminded me of “Gone Girl.” Instead of watching tv, I’ve switched to reading in bed this last month and I have to say, I have really been enjoying it.

Ok, that’s it for this week. Make sure to follow along with my Instagram because I have been sharing some fun projects there including my office that needed a little change up. As always, thanks for reading!

xoxo,

I miss her big giant hugs, random crazy dance moves, impromptu jams on the piano, base guitar, harmonica, and ukulele. It’s a mix of excitement, happiness and sadness and I’m letting myself feel it all. I catch myself getting weepy throughout the day but I feel a deep sense of gratitude for this new season and what she’ll get to experience.
Aside from the rug, the girls styled their space and it turned out so cute. I love that she’s rooming with her friend from 1st grade. How can my child be in college?!😭😢
