FRIDAY FAVORITE FIVE EDITION 21

April 15, 2022

LET’S SEE WHAT MADE THE LIST FOR FRIDAY FAVORITE FIVE EDITION 21!

Hey friends! I’m back after taking a couple of weeks off Friday Favorite Five. We had a bunch of extended family members visiting us and then spring break hit and we were out of town with the kids. Actually, we were out of the country! Now that I’m back to work and daily life responsibilities, I had to come back and share some of the things I have been loving lately.

Favorite #1: Pachinko

Last night, Jimmy and I started watching Pachinko on Apple TV. It’s a South Korean-American drama television series following the life of a Korean woman during the Japanese occupation. Ugh, it was a tear-jerker from the first episode! Even though it is a historical fiction piece, it’s so eye-opening to see what life was like during those periods. I heard many stories growing up from my parents and the struggles they endured along with their parents and grandparents. It’s equally heart-wrenching and fascinating because it really shows the resilience of the Korean people and how much they had to overcome throughout history. It’s pretty amazing to think that South Korea was once an underdeveloped country and has become one of the most developed and highest-income countries in just a few generations. Jimmy and I highly recommend this show! If anything, it makes me more understanding and empathetic of my parents and the generations before them.

On a totally different note, I love this white standing lamp! It’s currently on sale for half off and such a great deal. It looks so great in the corner of our living room.

Favorite #2: Viburnum

I truly love Spring. Aside from the disgusting pollen that is currently covering my porch, it’s so rewarding to watch all my beautiful plants and flowers start to show buds. My viburnum flowers have bloomed and they are glorious. I cut a bunch and brought them inside. There’s nothing sweeter in the spring and summer than bringing all your fresh-cut blooms from the yard. If you need any hydrangea tips, be sure to check out this blog post.

Favorite #3: Leather Couch

Did you read about our living room makeover last week? Our family has been breaking in the leather couch as you can see here. If you missed the reveal, be sure to see the whole refresh. We are truly enjoying all the new pieces from Home Depot.

Favorite #4: My parents’ new kitchen

Yesterday, I shared my parents’ kitchen renovation on the blog. It turned out so amazing and we are all so happy with the results. After I styled and shot the kitchen, my parents made galbi and we celebrated with the most delicious lunch. I can only imagine all the delicious things my parents will be cooking in their newly renovated kitchen!

Favorite #5: Spring Break

We had the best time in Cancun, Mexico for Spring break in an all-inclusive resort called Beach Palace. The best part about our vacation was the fact that I didn’t have to cook! It was glooooriuos. Aside from the seaweed which thankfully cleared up towards the end of the vacation, it was a really good trip and we were so thankful for a beach getaway.

I love this family photo that we took on the rooftop. This may just have to be our Christmas card photo. The weather and landscape were absolutely breathtaking. Gosh, I love these guys so much and can’t believe how fast the kids are growing up.

Thanks for reading, friends! I hope you have the best weekend. We will be celebrating the resurrection of Jesus this glorious Sunday. Happy Easter!

xoxo,

I miss her big giant hugs, random crazy dance moves, impromptu jams on the piano, base guitar, harmonica, and ukulele. It’s a mix of excitement, happiness and sadness and I’m letting myself feel it all. I catch myself getting weepy throughout the day but I feel a deep sense of gratitude for this new season and what she’ll get to experience.
Aside from the rug, the girls styled their space and it turned out so cute. I love that she’s rooming with her friend from 1st grade. How can my child be in college?!😭😢
