FRIDAY FAVORITE FIVE EDITION 18

March 4, 2022

CHECK OUT THIS WEEK’S FRIDAY FAVORITE FIVE EDITION 18!

Hi friends, it’s time for this week’s Friday Favorite Five Edition 18. As always, it’s a mix of random fun finds. I have a shortcut lemon cake recipe for you as well as my favorite white paint and more.

Favorite #1: DIY Pleated Curtains

I’m really excited about how the pinch pleat drapes turned out with a few supplies. If you want a high-end look without that high-end price tag, this is a great way to really elevate the look of the drapes. You can check out this blog post for the full tutorial.

Favorite #2: Tissue box cover

This modern PU leather tissue box cover comes in a bunch of different colors and it’s so pretty. I have it in white and it fits the small kleenex perfectly. My question is why hasn’t the kleenex company come out with just a standard neutral or cool-looking box?

Favorite #3: Easy Boxed Cake Recipe

This past week, I wanted to make a simple cake for friends and family and I came up with this easy recipe. Since I had a lemon boxed cake, I followed those directions but added frozen blueberries to the mix. I also added some crushed pecans on the bottom of the bundt pan. It was such a hit that it was all gone in 2 days.

I found a vanilla cake box and this time around, I added a couple tablespoons of fresh lemon juice, lemon zest, and some frozen blueberries. It was delicious. If you don’t want as strong of a lemon flavor, I would go with the vanilla box mix.

Favorite #4: Favorite White

I was feeling all sorts of sad this week with the war raging on in Ukraine. One thing that has helped me when there is so much sadness going on is to pick up a paintbrush. It’s therapeutic and instead of being paralyzed, it forces me to tackle a project I’ve been delaying for months. One of those tasks has been to repaint our kitchen, living room and all the trim in the house. So I got to painting and finished the living room and kitchen. I used Albaster by Sherwin Williams which is my favorite white paint. If you’re looking for the perfect white in your home, test a sample of this color to see how it looks. I’ve used it in many of our rooms and for our clients and it has come out beautiful every single time. You can see how it looks in our recent bedroom transformation.

Favorite #5: Cute Floral Hightops

I just bought these cute floral sneakers for Jules the other day because I saw them on clearance. They look so cute with a pair of jeans or dress and Jules loves them. Plus, they are comfy! They have a pink pair that’s equally cute but the floral ones were too adorable to pass up.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend. I put together a shortlist of some websites where you can donate to aid the relief that Ukraine currently needs. I even saw someone post about booking an Airbnb in Ukraine but doing it as a donation so that it goes directly to the person. If you have any other ideas or suggestions for donations or assistance, please share them below.

Jimmy and I donated to Convoy of Hope which is an international faith-based, non-profit organization. They are currently providing essential relief supplies to Ukrainians.

Save the Children

Global Empowerment Mission
