Need outfit ideas? Here are 5 ways to style a striped sweatshirt
We’ve had quite a hot summer and I am so ready for Fall weather to arrive so we can utilize our back porch again and wear jeans without sweating from every corner of our bodies. We might have just gotten away from the 90s temperature and for that, I’m thankful! A couple of weeks ago, I found this cute navy and white striped sweatshirt at Walmart and snagged it immediately. My sister loved it so much, that we went back and she grabbed the last one.
A striped sweater is a classic piece that I would consider a staple, so it gave me the idea to style it a few different ways and share it with you! I did a fun video on IG last week sharing Amazon faux leather shorts and the feedback was for more casual wear. So here I am delivering that content and I hope you can find some fun and unique ways to wear a striped sweater. I bet you already have one and if you don’t, I’m sharing a couple of sources so you can add one to your closet.
1. White Shorts or White Pants
Wear your striped sweater with simple white shorts or pants for a super casual look. Add a pair of comfortable tennis toes and you’re set! If it’s still too hot, just pair the shorts with a simple tank and wrap the sweater around your shoulders. I also recommend going up in a size for a more relaxed fit for this exact Walmart sweater. Here’s another similar look from Amazon. I also found a thinner striped one that’s a men’s version. I sometimes buy men’s tops for a more loose and comfortable fit.
2. Trousers
For this business casual look, I paired it with some nice tailored trousers and flats. This is perfect if you’re working in the office or just want to look professional and polished without being too fancy. My pants are old but I found a cute pair of high-waisted tailored trousers.
3. Distressed Jeans
You can’t go wrong with a distressed pair of jeans and converse sneakers. This look is super casual, comfortable yet stylish. My jeans are no longer available in this color but this one is really cute and on sale!
4. Long Skirt
I love a good pattern mixing and this one is paired with a long floral skirt. I tucked in my sweater under my bra so it doesn’t create a bunch of folds or wrinkles in the skirt. Add a pair of boots and you’re good to go!
5. Over a Dress
This is similar to the long skirt but I wore it over this sweet floral dress and cognac clogs. I wore a belt and tucked the sweater under to create a nice tucked look. My sister and I just bought these shoes a couple of weeks ago and we plan on wearing them in the Fall. They are soooo cute and surprisingly very comfortable.
For an evening look, just add a utility jacket!
This isn’t one of my normal types of posts but I thought it would be fun to add a little fashion sprinkled here and there since I love it so much. Don’t worry, I’ll be back with a bunch of DIY and design content soon since I’m starting a room makeover for our little Emmy. Stay tuned for that and hope you all have a great weekend! Lmk what you think about this post!
