As warm weather is slowly approaching, that means it’s time to give our home a mini Spring home refresh.
Welcome, friends to my Spring Home Refresh Blog Hop! The fun blog hop started yesterday and is going on until today. I hope you are able to find a lot of creative inspiration for your home especially as the weather is starting to warm up. I know for many of you, it is still very cold so adding a touch of Spring indoors during this time can really lighten our mood and add some much needed cheer.
We added a paneled wall a while ago to our living room and we still love it so much. It adds just the right amount of drama to our family room.
I kept the gold mirrors above the mantle for over a year and finally decided to switch things up a little. Since I stage homes for sellers, one of the advantages of that is the amount of decor I have as my inventory. It gives me the freedom to change decor and accessories in our home more frequently than the average person.
I added this gold framed beach art and it adds a nice beautiful calm element to the space. The art exudes such a serene and calm feeling which immediately gets squashed by the loud sounds of my 3 boisterous and active children. Ha! I also added some neutral and blue toned vases. The mantle and paneled wall was painted with Sherwin Williams, Peppercorn.
The long candlesticks are from Target. The midcentury credenza was passed down from my in laws and it is one of my favorite pieces that we own. My style is a mix of modern, farmhouse, transitional, mid century, vintage and traditional. Basically, it’s everything. You don’t have to own or stick to just one style for your home. Once I discovered that this was okay, I felt freedom to decorate and create a home that was uniquely ours. I encourage you to do the same!
I kept mostly neutral pieces in the white bookshelf. Since the family room has a lot going on, I kept it as neutral as possible. Neutrals can be far from boring. Add elements of contrasting textures like basket weave and add a combination of neutral hues. It’s a great place to showcase your collections and I did that here with my cake platters.
The same applies to pillows and throws. Although neutral, contrasting textures and patterns add coziness and visual interest.
I love white slipcovers because you can just throw them in the washer when it’s time to clean them.
Our gray bench is perfect as a coffee table because there are no rough edges for the kids to hurt themselves and it’s super comfortable when we prop our feet up.
The two linen chairs provide additional comfortable seating and I love the furry stool.
You can find the marble and gold lamps here. I’m a sucker for anything marble and gold.
The Everett foyer table is great because it can go with so many different styles. The deep baskets hold all of our kids’ crafts. I like how they are hidden but provide easy access for the kids.
Can you believe those leaves are fake?! I think real or faux plants should always be included in design.
Thanks for joining me on the blog hop! If you have a chance, please stop by later today as my patio makeover with Home Depot goes live!! I’m so happy with how it turned out!
Be sure to check out the other homes from my blogger friends. They are all a source of some wonderful inspiration.
