Dining Room Spring Tour

April 25, 2019

Today’s dining room spring tour is part of a fun blog hop.

Remember when my dining room got a bold makeover with some amazing wallpaper last Christmas? I still love it so much but decided to tone it down with a neutral rug for Spring.  Changing out a simple rug gave this room a nice and light refresh just in time for the new season. This post is part of a fun blog hop so be sure to check out how my friends also styled their spaces for some great Spring inspiration. I’ll link up to their sites at the bottom of this post.

This post is sponsored by Mohawk Home but all thoughts, opinions and styling are my own.

white lamps, white slipcovers, green velvet drapes

This beautiful textured Montauk rug in silver is great for both indoors and outdoors. I have another rug from Mohawk when I worked with them last Spring on giving my master bedroom a refresh. I love the bold rug in our room so when they asked to partner with them for another Spring tour, I immediately said yes. At the end of this post, you will also be able to enter into their big giveaway.

The rug prior to this had color in it including purple, green and oranges. Although beautiful, I thought it was competing too much with the wallpaper.

I know that figuring out a rug for your space can be challenging. When shopping for a rug, make sure you buy the right size. To me, it’s almost always better to go bigger than too small. I made sure the table and all the legs of the chairs would fit inside the perimeter of the rug. Rugs help anchor the furniture down so it doesn’t make it appear like it’s floating in the space. They also provide warmth, texture and add an instant coziness to your room.

Keeping everything else white with pops of green like the curtains and plants keep it consistent. The gold ornate mirror is an antique find from years ago. The tall tree is actually fake but looks quite real! The neutral rug helps to lay a good foundation for the space and really lets the wallpaper shine!

A simple white and wood vase holds more faux greenery for a nice large centerpiece.

The woven Montauk rug is an 8 X 10 and the perfect size for our dining space.

Be sure to check out how the other bloggers styled their spaces using their Mohawk rug. I know you’ll be inspired! You can also win one yourself so be sure to enter in their fun giveaway.

I miss her big giant hugs, random crazy dance moves, impromptu jams on the piano, base guitar, harmonica, and ukulele. It’s a mix of excitement, happiness and sadness and I’m letting myself feel it all. I catch myself getting weepy throughout the day but I feel a deep sense of gratitude for this new season and what she’ll get to experience.
Aside from the rug, the girls styled their space and it turned out so cute. I love that she’s rooming with her friend from 1st grade. How can my child be in college?!😭😢
