When you want to update your space, change it up with textiles
A room refresh with textiles is a simple way to change up the look and feel of your space. I love switching out my pillows and throw blankets to create a completely new look. This is why I love having a neutral background for main spaces so that the textiles and decors can bring in color, character, and charm. Let’s see how I change it up with textiles in our living room.
I honestly hadn’t given my living room any attention lately so I figured it was time to change it up a bit with the temperature starting to drop here in Georgia. I was itching for warm terracotta colors and fall accents like a good plaid blanket. Nothing says cozy like a bunch of pillows and blankets thrown all over the sofa especially when it’s cold outside. I am currently sitting on this comfy couch typing up this blog post!
I bought these rug pillows a while ago and just love the patterns and colors that it adds to the dark couch. Change it up with textiles and I recommend mixing patterns to add some variation and interest to the overall space. Here, I added a fun pattern with the rug pillow, faux leather lumbar, chenille pillow, and a black and white striped wool blanket. They are all different but work together!
The gold nesting tables are still available and provide just enough space for all the necessary items you want on a coffee table. You can easily tuck the smaller table under the larger one if you want. I always have a tray, plant, candle, agate coasters, coffee table books, and a box to hide all of our remotes.
Can we talk about Israeli Ruscus for a moment? It’s the green filler flower in my rattan vase. Those fresh greens will literally last over 6 months if you change out the water and cut the stems every now and then. They seriously last forever and look so pretty as a simple table centerpiece or on the counter in your kitchen or bathroom. I much prefer the look of live greenery over faux and these look beautiful in any room.
The white Ikea couch got some love too with some pillows. When you change it up with textiles, try out different size pillows for variation.
Do you remember that time I added some more stuffing to my sad little pouf? It’s looking sad and deflated again! It definitely needs to be refilled.
The paneled wall color is Peppercorn by Sherwin Williams and was our first project with The Home Depot.
Can you see my fiddle leaf fig on the left window? Figgy Azalea is growing like craaaazy!! She loves that spot and is totally thriving. When I got her, she was less than half the size and practically dying.
It was a simple change that really made the room look and feel warm and cozy. If you have any questions on sources, please ask in the comments section. I tried to link everything that was available or give a similar-looking source. Try and change it up with textiles in your space to create a whole new aesthetic.
Thank you for reading, friends and have fun decorating!
