Good morning! Today, my little peeps are home with me due to the weather. My older kids begged me to let them play out in the “snow” so they are out there yelling and having the time of their lives.
If you have a home, you probably have one of these folding snack tables. We got a set of 4 beechwood tables when we got married and we still use them today throughout the house. They are great to set your computer next to the sofa or to place your snacks and drinks. Since we got rid of our glass coffee table (not recommended with young kids), this has been used a lot more in the family room. The only thing I didn’t like was the appearance. If you are looking to spray paint something, this is a great little project. I used whatever spray paint I had on hand.
Make sure you spray paint outside or in your garage with the doors open. It’s not best to do it in super cold weather either. I did this a couple weeks ago when the weather was really nice outside. Make sure to place something underneath your project to protect your floor.
I started spraying the top first and did the legs after the white top was completely dried. Most spray paints dry relatively quickly. Here’s another blog with great tips on how to spray paint furniture. You will learn tips like when to sand as well as the method to spray painting to ensure a great finish.
JJ wanted to model my brand used table. ๐ It’s a simple DIY that makes the table look a little more glam compared to the previous beechwood. It wasn’t terrible before but now I really love it cause it adds a little unexpected pop to the room. I moved the pom poms over to the fireplace!
Check out the new legs!
I love taking old things like frames and furniture and making them fit my personality more with some spray paint. If you have old frames and hate the color, try painting it a new color. You might just love it.
Hope this gives you some inspiration with some spray paint ideas. I’ve spray painted a bunch of things and it just takes a little practice.
One of my favorite projects to date was spray painting the bench in our breakfast area. I spray painted this years ago when we were in our townhome. It came from Jimmy’s parents house and it used to be an old, ugly wood color and it was really outdated but I loved the lines it had. It just needed a little make over and now it’s got a more rustic vibe. The paint has a chippy look to it because some of the old color is starting to show through the cream spray paint. I couldn’t remove the cushions to reupholster them so I sewed a couple of reversible cushions and placed them on the bench.
The cushions have worked for years and it’s a lot more comfy on our bums. I just switch out the back cushions from time to time depending on my mood.
Sometimes, I want a neutral look and other times, I love a pop of color. I am always moving pillows around the house.
It fits one side of the table perfectly and now there’s additional seating available at the table.
I’m still loving the chalk paint on our breakfast table. It really does brighten the space so much.
Sometimes, it’s hard to see something past it’s age and color but there is so much possibility with just a little elbow grease. Spray paint is a wonderful, inexpensive tool for a simple but dramatic transformation. Paint it and you might just love it more than you thought possible! Hope you enjoyed today’s post!
Have a great day, friends!
