Hey guys, I hope you had a great Easter weekend! It was a beautiful and tiring weekend for the Mins. 😀 We sang, “Forever,” on Sunday and the lyrics are so powerful! I kept singing these verses all weekend.
One final breath He gave
As Heaven looked away
The Son of God was laid in darkness
A battle in the grave
The war on death was waged
The power of hell forever broken
The ground began to shake
The stone was rolled away
His perfect love could not be overcome
Now death where is your sting
Our resurrected King has rendered you defeated
Forever, He is glorified
Forever, He is lifted high
Forever, He is risen
He is alive
He is alive
Oh Emmy. I sure do love this girl. One thing she doesn’t lack is personality.
Sometimes, a lollipop is VERY necessary 😀
What you don’t see in this picture…. a fussy and super, overtired toddler who is passed her nap time, hence the lollipop. JJ looking all lonely because he was playing and ran over quickly to be in the picture. Although you can’t notice, there’s an exhausted dad who got the two little ones ready for church because Jules and I came earlier. A picture can look so perfect but in reality, it was utter chaos, people! #keepinitreal #miraclephoto
My mom finally came home on Saturday from Boston after taking care of my sister, BIL and niece for a whole month. We had my parents over on Sunday evening for Easter dinner. Jimmy grilled lobsters and shrimp and we prepared corn, cornbread, salad and some mac and cheese.
Yay, my mom is back! Sorry YunMi, James and Nora! 🙁
Jimmy AKA Grillmaster! After the kids went to bed, Jimmy and I had a relaxing movie night at home and it was the perfect ending to a very full and tiring day.
It’s been a while since I’ve shared a furniture makeover. A couple of months ago, I decided to lighten up the black stools in our kitchen but I never finished them. Here is the Before. Ignore all the crumbs on the floor and nastiness on the chairs. #realifepeople!
When we bought this house a few years back, we needed stools for the huge island in our kitchen. Since we didn’t have a breakfast table either, we were standing and eating for a few days until we couldn’t take it anymore. I went searching at a few places but couldn’t find anything I really loved in our price range. Plus, it was hard to find 6 matching stools. I also had to find something that was sturdy and wouldn’t fall backwards especially since the kids would use it. I settled on 3 black and 3 brown wooden stools from Target. They were sturdy and easy to assemble. Since our kitchen is so dark and we only get light in the morning, I decided to lighten things up by first painting our breakfast table. A couple of months ago when the weather was nice, I took the black stools outside and painted the legs with chalk paint. Here is the AFTER.
It did brighten up the area but the black part didn’t look right. I left it that way for a couple of months until this past Friday and decided to mix some paint and coat it with a gray color.
It ended up looking a little on the blue side but most of my accent colors are blue so I guess it works?
The chalk paint gives a bit of a distressed look. I rubbed it with Annie Sloan wax after the paint dried.
After painting those black stools, I decided it was time to paint these brown ones as well. I left the seat brown and painted the legs and frame a light ivory color.
Ahhhh so much better! It matches our breakfast table now. It totally brightens up the area too!
Here’s the AFTER! TADA!!!!
I am loving the brightness. Instead of buying different furniture, just repaint it! This whole project took about 2-3 hours only because it takes a long time to double coat all the sides of the legs. Great thing is that chalk paint dries quickly.
Have a great day, folks!
