Happy 7th birthday, Emmy!
Today our Emmy Grace turns 7. If you’ve been here from the very beginning, I actually started blogging when she was around just 1 yr of age.
With 3 young kids at home, I started the blog as a creative outlet. I was a stay at home mom in a new home, with lots of space and not enough money to decorate. So I got resourceful and learned how to give old furniture new life.
I thrifted furniture with good bones and saw what they could be with some elbow grease and paint. I shared those projects online and I soon realized how passionate I was about DIY and design.
Little Emmy was always my sidekick. When her siblings were in school, we would work together in the kitchen baking up our favorite treats. She has always been my shadow and will always join in on any project if I let her.
We learned how to be better gardeners together and she shared in my joy as we jumped from one project to the next.
Her favorite projects are always the ones where she can be the taste tester. She is truly my daughter!
Happy birthday, my sweet girl. You are the happiest, most inquisitive, and affectionate little girl I know. You always say hi to strangers and I love that you ask a million questions because you are so curious about the world. Okay, I love it except at night when I need you to go to bed! The world is a whole lot brighter with you in it.
Thanks for adding more joy and laughter to our lives. I can not imagine it without you and your sweet spirit. We love you so, Emmy! Happy birthday. Mom and dad are so proud of who you are.
xoxo,
