Did you all have a good weekend? I woke up this morning with the worst stomach ache. I struggled sending the big kids off to school and literally had to lay on the couch for over an hour while Ems watched TV. I’m finally feeling better and hoping it’s not some virus or anything. I’m thinking it could be due to to all the yumminess I ate from the combined birthday parties we had over the week/weekend. Oy, happy Monday.
Jimmy’s birthday was last Thursday but the lucky boy celebrated all weekend long. His mom made us dinner Thursday night, we went out on a double date night with friends on Friday (thanks Hannah and Young for treating us!), had a potluck dinner hosted by the Obrists on Saturday, and we hosted a family dinner on Sunday night for my FIL’s birthday.
Honestly, I was too pooped to throw him a party due to hosting a lot of family the past two weeks but my friend, Unchong kept insisting on hosting an intimate, laid back get together with our neighbors. That was generous hospitality at it’s finest and I’m so glad I finally accepted the offer. It reminded me of this post on Hospitality a while back.
Such weirdos!
Thank you, beautiful Obrist family! We also celebrated my godson, Ethan’s birthday too since his big day just passed.
I made 2 five layered chocolate quinoa cakes for Jimmy and my FIL. If you’re looking for a healthier alternative to cake without compromising flavor, I highly recommend this recipe.
I’ll be back tomorrow sharing my homemade salted caramel. It’s literally finger lickin good!
Hope you’re having a better start to the week than I am!

You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness. Ephesians 4:22-24
