Rearranging furniture is fun and it’s free!
Happy Monday, friends! I hope you had a wonderful weekend. Today, I’m sharing how I moved a few things around the house to create space for all of my plants. Rearranging furniture is fun and it’s a great way to change things up in your home. It breathes new life into your spaces and gives you another way to use and live in that room.
Here’s what my office/piano room looked like last year and before I made over my little office wall. These bay windows are one of my favorite features in our home. I love that it gets a ton of natural light and is the perfect spot for a Christmas tree. I only wanted to do one Christmas tree this year so I decided this area would be perfect to house all the plants until Spring. It’s really the only area that gets enough natural light.
The weather in Georgia can be a bit unpredictable especially as we head towards Fall and Winter. It’s super warm one day and then freezing the next. We live in that weird fickle climate for a few months until the cold weather is here to stay. The screened porch housed a good number of my plants and I needed to bring them in to protect my babies.
It looks like a crazy greenhouse. I moved the armchairs towards the middle of the room in front of the bookcase. See! Rearranging furniture is fun and a great workout. There are so many benefits. Ha!
I’m digging it!
I thought it would look and feel too cramped but it’s actually fine. It’s a bit harder to get to the bookcase cabinets but otherwise, this is a nice temporary fix.
This is truly a multi-functional space indeed. It’s a library, sitting area, office, piano and now a plant room.
When I was growing up, my mom made me help her move couches and furniture around all the time. The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree does it? I even brought over my black wicker bar cart to hold all the smaller ones.
Look at all these gorgeous plants. I have literally turned into my mother and I ain’t mad about it. I get to breathe in all this wonderful oxygen while I work here. #luckyme
Here’s to hoping they live happily until I bring some of them back out in the spring. The walls are antique white by PPG and you can find the bookcase paint makeover here.
If you feel like one of your spaces feels dull, try moving around some chairs or end tables. You may end up loving the change even more than before!
