Last week, I saw a recipe from here and I knew I had to make it. This is such a simple recipe but it’s sooooo good ya’ll. We all devoured it and it was delicious with my guacamole. The kids ate seconds and thirds and our family pretty much finished one pie. #minsknowhowtoeat
Mexican Taco Pie
- 1.5 lb ground beef
- 1 can of crescent rolls
- 1.5 cups sour cream
- 1.5 cups salsa
- 1.5 cups shredded Mexican cheese
- 1 cup crushed tortilla chips
- 1 tbsp taco seasoning (I make my own and put it in a container)
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Brown your ground beef with salt, pepper and garlic powder and drain the fat. Add the taco seasoning and salsa and mix into the ground beef.
Lay out your crescent rolls to fill the bottom of your pie dish. Does anyone else hate opening up a can or rolls or biscuits? I anxiously peel the paper off and then put it on the counter to hit with a knife so it doesn’t pop in my hand. #weirdo Anyways, pour your beef mixture on top of the crescent rolls.
Pour your crushed tortilla chips on top of the meat and then cover it with sour cream.
Top it off with the shredded cheese and bake at 375 degrees for about 20-25 minutes until the cheese is golden brown.
Soooo good!
Serve alongside this guac. You can’t go wrong with this combo.
Here, I made it again using a frozen crust. I guarantee you will love it. We devoured it and the kids love to request this for dinner.
Enjoy, my friends!

AWESOME. It’s almost like shepherd’s pie but with no mashed potatoes and mexican flavors!
