Hey friends! It’s already week 5 of the One Room Challenge! If you’re here for the first time, I’m joining Linda at Calling it Home as a guest participant blogger and transforming my youngest daughter’s bedroom within 6 weeks. In case you missed the first 4 weeks, I’ve attached the links below so you can catch up.
Week 1, Week 2, Week 3, Week 4
If you read my post on Monday, I shared how I added wallpaper panels to Emmy’s room. I chose the Petal Pusher design from Hygge and West and I think it adds a nice bold contrast to the room. If you’re thinking about adding wallpaper to your space without having to actually apply them to the walls, this is great alternative. I can easily remove them and change up the room in the future without any hassle. This is great for people like me who suffer from DMS aka Decor Moving Syndrome. HA!
The vintage desk didn’t end up in the room for different reasons so I brought in my son’s black desk instead. I have to say, I’m not mad about not having to paint something else! I’m going to recover Emmy’s antique bench with this bold striped Ikea fabric that I already had on hand.
I found the black and white basket on clearance at Joanns last week when I was buying some fabric. It’s perfect for Emmy’s books and will sit next to the reading chair.
This week, I’ll be sewing a couple of pillow cushions for the room. My husband installed the semi-flush lighting from Lighting Design Company and it is a beauty. Next week is the Final Reveal so I’ll be finishing up the last touches to the room. I’ll be busy staging, photographing and editing to share the complete transformation! Be sure to catch all the designer bloggers’ progress as well as all of the participant bloggers for a ton of inspiration.
Thank you for reading!

Yuni, I can’t tell you how much I love those panels! I am so doing that. I can’t wait to see her room next week and I bet she is just tickled that her mommy is putting such love and care into her gorgeous room!

Thank you so much, Kelley! Almost done!!! I’m so ready! ha!

Melissa from Polished Habitat and I were just talking about wallpaper panels! I love your choice here – I’ve been obsessed with floral wallpaper ever since I first laid my eyes on Ellie Cashman Designs (Google her – you’ll know EXACTLY the wallpaper I’m talking about – it’s all over Pinterest.) 75% of our living room will be black and white, so you know I love that basket you scored, as well as the IKEA fabric for the bench!
Oh, and I also have DMS, along with DPS (Decision Paralysis Syndrome), where I’m unable to make up my mind about something, and so I do nothing. Ha!
Yuni Min says
Oksana! I know exactly what you’re talking about! That wallpaper is GOR-GEOUS! Actually, all of her designs and I’m pretty sure that’s the one Jen chose for her room. And lol to that DPS!!! I got that too, girl!! Thanks for the love!

Yuni!!! Love the panels so much! I have DMS too, so I’ll definitely be stealing this idea! Looking forward to your reveal. Your daughter must be thrilled!

Thanks so much, Jen! Emmy loves watching it come together and trying to be my little “helper.” Sometimes, it’s helping and most other times, it’s making messes. ha!
Jenna at Wife in Progress says
Those wallpaper panels are such a great idea. I’m always admiring beautiful wallpaper prints but have been hesitant to paper an entire wall – these are the perfect solution. Can’t wait for the big reveal! xo
Yuni Min says
Thanks so much, Jenna! Yes, the wallpaper panels are perfect for those that are non-committal. I can take them down whenever I want!
Melissa @ Polished Habitat says
Those panel’s are perfect! And hooray for getting to skip at least one painting project this week. Can’t wait to see the full room!

What a fun idea! Wallpaper panels! I wish I would have thought about that six weeks ago. Would have saved a lot of time on my end. Genius!! I can’t wait to see your reveal and I know your baby girl is thrilled to have a big girl room!

Thanks so much, Emily! BUT, your’s will be spectacular with your own a kind painting. Emmy is definitely excited and has been sleeping in her new room the past few days!
