Hey friends! It’s already week 4 for the One Room Challenge! If you’re here for the first time, I’m joining Linda at Calling it Home as a guest participant blogger and transforming my youngest daughter’s bedroom within 6 weeks. In case you missed the first 3 weeks, I’ve attached the links below so you can catch up.
This past week, I hung up the gorgeous sign from my friend, Stephanie at Simply Lovely Lumber. She creates beautiful, custom wooden frames like this one. I also added the light blue, ruffled shabby chic bedding. I bought this bedding many months ago from Target when it was on clearance for $30! I guess you can say it was what gave me a starting point and direction for the room.
If you’ve been following for a while, you may remember the nightstand I repainted last year when my friend, Elisa, found it next to our church dumpster. Good friends load their car with junk because they know you can do something with said junk. I think it looks lovely in Emmy’s room! What do you think? I stole the ruffled blanket from the guest room and added it to the bottom of the bed.
That’s about all I can show you today. BUT, come back Monday because I will be sharing a big addition to this room. It’s in collaboration with another company and I’m happy to say it’s finished after working on it last weekend. I’m pretty happy with the results and can’t wait to show you on Monday!
Next week, I hope to finish painting the vintage desk and adding it to the room. We will also switch out the lighting and bring in the sitting chair. I really need to finish up by next week so I can style, photograph, edit and blog the final reveal. Blogging is a one woman magazine, people! Thanks for reading every week and watching my progress. Emmy keeps asking me when I’ll be done and she randomly thanks me for making her room so pretty. It’s really cute to see her so excited. Make sure to catch the rest of the designers and guest participants’ progress from this past week.
Thank you for reading!
Yuni

Oh goodness, the comment about Emmy thanking you randomly just made my heart melt. You need to make a video where you reveal the final results to her – I would love to see her reaction!

The sign is gorgeous and one of my favorite lyrics ever. I hope Emmy has it etched into her heart forever! And I second Oksana that we need an Emmy reveal video
Angela from Blue i Style did that with her boy’s playroom and it’s adorable!
Thank you so much, Melissa! I think that’s a great idea. I will definitely video her reaction!
My contribution has brought meaning to Emmy’s room!!! lol!!

Thanks so much, CC! Almost a week away!
So much girly goodness going on in here! I love how soft and warm it all feels! And I second (third) the suggestion to video Emmy’s reaction when you show her the room. That was definitely my favorite part of creating a playroom for my boys for the ORC a couple of years ago!
Thanks so much, Angela! I’m definitely going to videotape her reaction. Thanks for the idea!
