ORC: Emmy’s Room Week 3

October 20, 2016

Today, I’m already sharing Week 3 of the One Room Challenge. If you’re here for the first time, I’m joining Linda at Calling it Home as a guest participant blogger and transforming my youngest daughter’s bedroom within 6 weeks. In case you missed the first 2 weeks, I’ve attached the links below so you can catch up.

Week 1, Week 2

This past week, I felt like I didn’t get a whole lot done. Emmy was sick all week and she stayed home from school so I didn’t have as much time to work on the room as I planned. I did however, get the bed painted which took 3 coats of Velvet Finishes. Here is what it looks like now.

It looks so fresh and new doesn’t it?

The decor items from my generous sponsors started to arrive this past week. The beautiful handmade sign from my friend, Stephanie, arrived this week. Isn’t it amazing? It will go above Emmy’s bed and I can’t wait to hang it up this week. I have another sign from Stephanie in my kitchen and it’s equally amazing. If you’re looking for a Christmas gift, this is a great one!

The sitting chair from Lamps Plus also arrived along with the gorgeous pom pom blanket and pillow from Pom Pom at Home. This luxurious blanket is the softest thing ever! You’ve probably seen this chair from my previous One Room Challenge. I liked it so much, I had to have another one. After 6 weeks of having this chair, I realized the feet were underneath the chair. I didn’t realize they came with feet. Oh boy. #ultimatebloggerfail. I liked the chair before, but now, I really love it! HA! These two companies are sponsoring my One Room Challenge by providing these beautiful pieces.

Well, that’s really all I can show you for now! For the next week, I plan on putting the bed linens together and seeing if my plans for adding a statement piece to the room will actually work out. Stay tuned! Thanks for reading and be sure to check out the designer bloggers as well as all of the other guest participants’ progress. Thanks so much for following along!

Love, love, love that sign, Yuni! I have that lyric on a little post-it note on my desk – far less glamorous, but still a lovely reminder. I chuckled at your chair story; that chair, though, is stunning, as is the newly painted bed against the gray walls! Can’t wait to read all about your statement piece! Hope Emmy is feeling better!

I miss her big giant hugs, random crazy dance moves, impromptu jams on the piano, base guitar, harmonica, and ukulele. It’s a mix of excitement, happiness and sadness and I’m letting myself feel it all. I catch myself getting weepy throughout the day but I feel a deep sense of gratitude for this new season and what she’ll get to experience.
Aside from the rug, the girls styled their space and it turned out so cute. I love that she’s rooming with her friend from 1st grade. How can my child be in college?!😭😢
