Week 3 for the laundry room progress includes a completed sink base, wallpaper wars and new subway tiles.
Yup, it’s week 3 of the laundry room and next weekend is the big reveal! I have a little secret. It’s actually already done. Yup, we were on a time crunch due to traveling and it had to be done in 16 days. We have never done a room in this short period of time. You guys, I love the room. It’s almost too good to be a laundry room. I think I was secretly or subconsciously thinking of creating a mom cave when I was working on this room because I kinda wanna hang out in there alone….hiding from my kids….eating chocolate…and not doing laundry. Ha! This post is sponsored by Blanco but all thoughts, opinions and DIY mishaps are my own.
If you missed the first two weeks, you can read week 1 and week 2 to catch up from the very beginning. With that said, just pretend with me that we’re not done yet. Working with Blanco has been amazing and it was literally love at first sight when I laid eyes on their sinks. This past week, Jimmy constructed a base for the sink and I painted it black. The photo below is with one coat of paint.
My friends over at Aspect Peel and Stick Tiles also sent me some beautiful subway tiles and we installed that against one side of the wall. Cutting glass tiles was a bit of a learning curve but the finished product is really sleek and gives the room a nice classic touch.
I also got into a fighting match with the wallpaper because I failed to read the directions. When I say fighting match, just imagine me yelling at the wallpaper and the wallpaper fighting back by falling on top of my head, making creases and cursing me with it’s bubbles. I used glue paste on the wallpaper only to find out I was supposed to just spray the back with water. Since I used glue on my last wallpaper installation, I didn’t even think that it could be any different. After 3 tries with the wallpaper creating bubbles and not sticking to the walls properly, it finally clicked in my head to read the instructions. Thankfully, my nice friends over at Wallpaper Boulevard sent me enough wallpaper and it worked out in the end. It wasn’t a pretty sight at the time but it sure does look pretty now.
One more week and I’ll share my new mom cave, I mean laundry room with you all!! Thanks for reading!
