Week 2 of my laundry room makeover progress is all about the new flooring!
This post is sponsored by Blanco but all thoughts, opinions and janky toenails are my own. I’ve included affiliate links for your convenience. If you caught my post last week, it was all about the hilarious, random BEFORE pics. You don’t want to miss that post. But just in case you forgot, here’s a photo to jog your memory. Let’s get started on the laundry room makeover progress shall we?
Since sharing that lovely photo above, the linoleum sheet floor has been ripped out and replaced with the most beautiful new marble flooring. HA! just kidding! We ripped out the linoleum flooring and wait for it…. we replaced it with LINOLEUM again! However, this isn’t your standard builder grade linoleum sheet. What we used are linoleum tiles and they have all different types that resemble wood, ceramic tiles, etc. I chose the marble because they actually do look like the real thing. I love the look but obviously I don’t love the price of real marble. Plus, it isn’t recommended to place actual marble flooring in a laundry room. Here’s the brand I used from Home Depot called Trafficmaster. It was less than $100 for the whole floor.
It comes in a box of 10 linoleum tiles and we bought and used exactly 3 boxes. You guys, it’s PEEL and STICK tiles! It’s for lazy DIY people like me and it is a dream to install. It’s easy to cut bc you just need a sharp utility knife to score the tiles. We decided to grout in between the tiles to give off the appearance of real tiles. I added grouting to my DIY checklist last week! Look at my husband looking all happy and skinny! #paleoishlife This picture is before we grouted in between the tiles.
Here are a few progress shots. I will be sharing a video tutorial soon on how to install these tiles. If you’re looking to replace flooring in a bathroom or laundry area, I highly recommend this. One of the things I liked about this tile is that it’s not cold on your feet and super easy to clean.
Excuse my janky feet. I used my iphone so the pictures are all dark. Remember that terrible yellow wall color I told you about? Soon, it will be yellow no more!
We were even able to put the washer and dryer back in the same day! We finished the flooring in one afternoon/evening!
Here’s a better photo of what it looks like. I know what you’re thinking. That grout job is major skillz!! Why, thank you very much! And this letterboard is soooo me.
We are really on a time crunch because I need to be done with this project by the end of next week since we have a Fall break coming up. DOH!! I’m still waiting on my lighting and wallpaper to arrive. We are hoping to install the shelving and sink this week. Thanks to my friends at Lighting Design Company, Wallpaper Blvd and Aspect Tiles for partnering up with me and providing these items to complete my space.
Thanks for following along and I’ll be sharing the video tutorial soon! Btw, have you subscribed to my you-tube channel yet? I would love it if you did because I still don’t know what I’m doing over there yet.

Love the peel and stick tile. I have been contemplating on putting them in my kids bath. Also, I would love it if you can share how your husband lost weight. I noticed you hash tagged it “paleoish”– what do you eat that is not apart of the paleo lifestyle? Can you do a meal plan? I once tried the paleo lifestyle for a series of months and I was hungry all the time and most of the things I made tasted awful. My son has nut allergies, so I could only make the non-almond stuff…which I think was the problem. Any tips?
Yuni Min says
Hi Jessica! Sorry for the delayed response. Here’s a recent Paleo FAQ I put together. http://loveyourabode.com/life/paleo-faq/
I think it’s definitely hard if you can’t use nut flours. There are other flours but I haven’t experimented outside of the almond and coconut flour. Hope some of my answers help!

This turned out beautiful, I love how you installed it like a brick pattern. This is exactly the look I want for my front bathroom but wasn’t sure which product would be best. Now I know, thanks so much!!
We installed wood floors and now the 12 yr old fake wood look vinyl in the bathroom is an ugly contrast to the beautiful wood in the hallway. But hey, it looked good when we had carpet LOL.

Thank you, Toni! Isn’t that always how it is? Things are always changing or getting old!

Yes, it’s finished and we love it so much. Thank you, Ivory for your kind comments.
