Here’s how to make your own stickers at home and keep your child busy for at least 5 minutes!
We are officially into our first week of summer break. I thought about titling this post, “How to make your own stickers and keep your child from bothering you for at least 5 minutes. ” Ha! If you are in desperate need of craft ideas this summer, this one is simple and mess-free. Here’s how to make your own stickers at home with your kids.
Thanks to my friend, Sunny for sharing this great idea with us a few weeks ago. It’s a great craft for kids of all ages. You will have to help younger children with the cutting portion and ripping off the tape. I don’t enjoy kids’ crafts but I actually love this one because it’s relatively mess-free and there’s no glue or glitter involved. DO not get me started on glitter. That junk is the devil!
Here’s how to make your own stickers with just 4 items.
Supplies:
- packing tape
- parchment paper
- paper for your images
- scissors
Instructions:
Get a sheet of parchment paper and lay it on a flat surface. Rip off a long piece of packing tape and place the sticky side on top of the parchment paper. The parchment paper becomes the backing for the sticker.
Print out a sheet of online images. Just google “sticker images” or “vsco sticker images.”
You’ll find sheets of images you can easily print.
Then, cut around the images or fonts and place them on top of the parchment paper and packing tape.
Now, add another strip of packing tape on top of those images that are on top of the first strip of packing tape. The order is parchment paper, packing tape, sticker images, packing tape.
Keeping the layers together, cut around each image. Make sure you leave a little surrounding area around each image.
Little hands love to help! Let them!
See how easy it was! Peel off the parchment paper when you’re ready to stick them anywhere. Emmy had fun giving my iPad cover a little sticker makeover.
The older kids placed images all over their Chromebooks. Cute right? They peel off easily too.
Emmy will sit and work on these for at least an hour. I’ll confess that I easily got hooked on making them too.
If I think of any other craft ideas, I’ll be sure to share them. If you’ve never done marshmallow Olympics, you need to play these games with your kids. They are so much fun!
Happy crafting!
xoxo,
