See how I made these DIY easy no sew curtains for my kitchen corner. It’s so easy, you can make them too!
Today, I wanted to share a really easy tutorial on how to make curtains without sewing them. Cue the music. For all your non-sewers, this is sooo easy! I have basic sewing skills but honestly, this is much easier than taking out my dusty sewing machine.
I was wanting a simple update to my kitchen windows and I’ve sewed a couple of curtains in the past. If you have small windows in your kitchen or bathroom, this is the easiest DIY project.
The easiest way to make small curtains is buying one larger curtain panel like this one.
You also need to get this Heat N Bond iron on adhesive. This tape is what you use to basically create clean hems without sewing. All you need are a pair of scissors and an iron.
First, take measurements for your windows. I used a previous curtain that I used and cut them a little larger to account for the hems. The great thing about using a normal curtain panel is that you only have to fix two sides of the rectangle! YASSSSS honey. See, I’m looking out for ya’ll cause ain’t nobody got time to fix 4 sides!
Fold over the edge by about an inch and iron it. Place the adhesive with the white tape facing up and iron over it. Let it cool before removing the sticker. Fold over that edge once more and iron again. The sticky side will adhere once you iron the edge and your hem is set!
Instead of using the existing holes in the curtains, I used my clip on rings.
Isn’t that so easy? Anyone can do it. You can also create shorter hems on any type of curtains using this iron on adhesive. I did this with the super long Ikea velvet curtains in my dining room.
My favorite part is the little pom poms on the sides.
I spend a ton of time in this corner every week washing dishes and meal prep and now it makes me even happier.
Hope you had a wonderful day! Check out yesterday’s post to read about some of my reflections as well as some of my favorite books and podcast. Hope it encourages your heart.
