Here are the Top Ten Most Popular Posts from 2016!
Hi Friends! 2016 is gone and I’ve been a little MIA on the blog the past two weeks. I’ve really enjoyed my time off by spending it with my extended family and friends. I cooked a ton, ate my face off, played with my kids and got to squeeze my sweet little niece as much as possible before she had to go back home. I almost forgot to mention that Jimmy and I managed to complete a pretty big makeover in our living room a couple of days before Christmas. Yup, we’re crazy like that. The makeover is in partnership with Home Depot and we love the results. I can’t wait to share the transformation with you all in a couple of weeks. Here are the top ten most popular posts from 2016!
I can’t believe it but I just had my 2 year blog anniversary! As you all know, this blog has become a place where I get to share my passion with you all. I love creating and it’s been such a joy being able to have a place to document and share my projects, recipes, faith and life with you all.
I’ve been a stay at home mom for almost 9 years now and this past year, I’ve had the opportunity to take on some design projects. If you told me that this was going to happen two years ago, I would’ve told you to shut your mouth! Ha, okay probably in a nicer way of course. I’ve also had the opportunity to work with different brands and this is something I’ve dreamed about for years. I probably shared that dream with only a handful of family members and friends and to see it become a reality is quite honestly humbling. I don’t want to sound cliche or overly dramatic but I really have to give praise to God because He is the one that put this gift and creativity in my heart. I never want to forget or discount that fact. One conviction He has been putting on my heart the past few months is to really give him my platform. I don’t need to try so hard and strive to create something for myself. I just need to trust Him and in his timing and plan, He will do whatever it is that he wants with my gifts, talents and this blog. That revelation has really allowed me to have freedom and joy in what I share here. It’s also taken the pressure off to create content just for the sake of creating content.
Really, I have you to thank for all the wonderful comments, emails, shares and support. I’m grateful for these opportunities but it’s only possible because of my awesome loyal readers. Thank you.
I thought it would be fun to share the most popular posts from this past year. Here we go!
Apparently, you guys love to shop!! This was the most popular blog post. The blanket scarf I’m wearing got tons of love and it really is a wonderful gift for that sister, friend, mother, etc.
The Spring home tour was also a popular post. This is a photo of my dining room turned into office. Every office needs a pink rug in my opinion.
One of my favorite projects this year was our guest room makeover from the One Room Challenge. If you saw the BEFORE pic, you know it was a pretty dramatic transformation. We’ve housed numerous guests in this room since the makeover.
My youngest, Emmy received a room makeover and this was also one of my top posts. I had a lot of fun transforming her nursery into a big girl’s room. You guys seem to love a good Before and After. Plus, Emmy is too cute not to love right?!
5. Merry and Bright Holiday Home Tour
My Christmas Home Tour was also in the top 10 posts. Are you suffering from post Christmas blues? Only 11.5 more months until Christmas ya’ll! HA!
Another top contender was when I finished designing my brother, John’s NYC studio. I loved collaborating and working with him to create a space that reflected his style and personality. Plus, it allowed me to go up to NYC and eat all the food!
6. FALL TOUR
The Fall Tour was also a favorite. I always love partnering with other blogger pals and sharing our homes with you.
I had the best time decorating my SIL, Linda’s living room space. If you want to brighten up a space without painting or changing out an existing dark sectional/couch you’ll want to read that post.
8. CLIENT PROJECT: LINDA’S FOYER
I loved turning this huge blank wall into a welcoming, neutral foyer area for Linda. It was also my most popular Instagram post.
If you’ve read my blog for a while, you know I’m all about creating healthy, delicious dinners without a lot of fuss and time. Check out that post for some easy and delicious recipes.
10. ATLANTA JOURNAL CONSTITUTION FEATURE
Last but not least, we had our home featured on the AJC this past summer and that was really cool! It’s not that surprising but our house already looks really different from that feature. My kids look so much younger here too!
Well, that’s a wrap!! These were the top 10 blog posts and it’s easy to see that you all love when I share home tours and dramatic Before and After room reveals. Thank you sweet friends for following along. I’m excited to see what 2017 will bring and hope that you’ll share what you’d like to see more of on the blog.
Happy New Year!!
